That includes a massive 5-2 victory over Real Madrid in late September, where they ran riot on their city rivals. As for Europe, Atletico lost a 3-2 nailbiter on matchday one to Liverpool before smashing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 at the end of September. The club also came out victorious in their first game since the international break, running out 1-0 winners against Osasuna on Saturday thanks to Thiago Almada.
Despite their respectable form, Atletico have yet to emerge victorious on the road this term, which isn’t exactly a great sign ahead of a visit to a hostile Emirates Stadium. But, their dominant win over Frankfurt is a reason for optimism. They will be hoping Julian Alvarez can create havoc on Tuesday, having already scored once and tallied two assists in the UCL. He’s also hammered home seven league goals.
