Super Bowl 59: Bet On Some Swiftie Specials!

With Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs returning to the Super Bowl for the third straight year and 5th time in six years, they have become a fixture of the Big Game. And now, so has Kelce’s world famous girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Swift has been a gold mine for the NFL, so of course, NFL betting sites are doing everything they can to bring in more punters with Swift-inspired “Swiftie Specials”.

Highlights

  • Fifteen: Another way to bet on Patrick Mahomes winning MVP
  • Bad Blood: Philly will be in Mahomes’ face all day, so a roughing the passer flag is likely
  • 1989: Travis Kelce will continue his tradition of big games in the Super Bowl

To be clear, most of the betting apps putting out these “Swiftie Specials”, such as bet365, are not actually providing bets concerning Taylor Swift. Rather, these are specials that are inspired by and named after her various hit songs or albums. If it makes you feel any better, all the actual bets are concerning football players, stats, and occurrences within the game.

All odds provided by Bet365.

Fifteen - Patrick Mahomes to Win Super Bowl MVP - Yes (+110)

We’ve already written about why you should be betting on Patrick Mahomes to win MVP (twice), but here’s yet another way to make some easy money on this prop. If the Chiefs win, their QB probably has a 99 percent chance of winning this award.

Fearless - Chiefs to Have a Successful 4th Down Conversion - Yes (-180)

The Chiefs were 26th in the league this year with just 17 fourth down attempts, but they’ve been showing more of a willingness to go for it in recent weeks. They converted one fourth down attempt in each of their two playoff games already. They were also unstoppable when they did go for it, converting 70.6 of their attempts, 3rd in the league.

22 - Travis Kelce to Have 22+ Receiving Yards in Each Half - Yes (+110)

Travis Kelce hasn’t exactly spread his production out across both halves this season, as he’s averaging just over 33 yards per game in the first half and just 16.0 in the second. However, we back him to hit this one nonetheless, as those numbers are more a product of the game script the Chiefs often had in the second half, which won’t be the case on February 9 in New Orleans.

Everything Has Changed - Chiefs to Come From Behind & Take the Lead in the 4th Quarter - Yes (+200)

This is the Kansas City Chiefs classic right here. Especially the 2024 Chiefs. Mahomes led the league with five 4th-quarter comebacks and seven game-winning drives during the regular season. The Chiefs came back from a 4th-quarter deficit in both of their Super Bowl wins against the 49ers, too.

The Man - Travis Kelce to Record 100+ Receiving Yards & Score a Touchdown - Yes (+600)

Travis Kelce has managed this stat line in four playoff games since the 2020 postseason, including a couple of weeks ago when he had 117 and a score against the Texans. Philly gave up the fewest yards to TEs during the regular season, but Tyler Higbee (seven receptions, 54 yards, TD) and Zach Ertz (11 catches, 104 yards) have had great success in back-to-back weeks.

Bad Blood - Eagles to Have a Roughing the Passer Penalty - Yes (+175)

The Eagles had four roughing the passer penalties this year, according to NFLpenalties.com, which was tied for 7th-most. The Chiefs, predictably, had a lot of roughing the passer penalties in their favor this year. Five, to be exact, which is tied for 4th-most. They also got one in the Divisional round too. There hasn’t been a roughing the passer penalty in the Super Bowl since Super Bowl 55, but the last QB who was fouled? Patrick Mahomes.

My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - Travis Kelce to Spike the Football After a Chiefs TD - Yes (+400)

He’s not quite Rob Gronkowski, but Travis Kelce loves him a good spike. He sometimes spikes balls after TDs he didn’t even score. He’ll do a dance too, sure, but he’s always pretty jacked up when he gets to the end zone. This is essentially added value on the Kelce anytime TD prop, which betting sites have set at +120.

1989 - Travis Kelce to Have a Reception for 19+ Yards and 89+ Receiving Yards - Yes (+300)

Kelce isn’t a big-play guy, to be sure, but he’s no stranger to the 20+ yard reception. He had 12 such plays during the regular season, and he had another two during the Chiefs’ Divisional win over the Texans. If he gets that, the 89+ yards should be gravy.

I Knew You Were Trouble - Saquon Barkley 200+ Rush & Rec Yards & Score a Touchdown - Yes (+850)

This is something of a hedge against all of the pro-Chiefs props we have here. Since Taylor Swift is on the Chiefs’ side, most of them are centered on K.C. Barkley has already managed a stat line like this in these playoffs, and while the Chiefs are a tough defense, the Eagles offensive line is a whole other story.

Down Bad - Chiefs Have a Turnover on Downs - No (-160)

This one kind of goes hand in hand with our other bet on the Chiefs to convert a fourth down. They were successful on over 70 percent of their tries during the regular season and are 2-for-2 in the postseason. They don’t go very often either, so if they go, they have a good play in mind.
