Brendan Allen (27-7) was on a fast track flying up the middleweight rankings a few years ago. He went on a 12-2 run that concluded with five straight wins. However, his run was interrupted by back-to-back decision losses to pretty good but not great fighters.

Now, he’s on his way back up the ladder and carrying a three-fight winning streak to the Apex that includes two Fight of the Night bonuses. Both of those fights were decided after the final bell.

Across the octagon, Christian Leroy Duncan (15-2) will look to slow Allen’s roll and continue his own. He’s won five straight and eight of his 10 UFC fights since joining the promotion 2023. Clearly, he’s been busy.

We would’ve said that Duncan was out of his depth last year, but he’s already registered wins over Roman Dolidze and Jared Cannonier this year. He is very much up for this fight, and that’s what makes it so hard to call. There’s a reason sports betting sites are pegging this as a pick ‘em matchup.

We think Allen does have the edge here based on his extensive experience and gas tank. But we’re not confident enough to take him straight up, even with the odds being so enticing. Instead, we’ll roll with a fight to go the distance bet at excellent +134 odds. Five of Allen’s last six fights have been decided by the judges, and same with four of Duncan’s last six.
