UFC Vegas 122: Camilo vs. Herbert Predictions & Betting Odds

Public Domain
The UFC must be gearing up for a massive event in the near future because they haven’t exactly been stacking their cards recently. Even last week’s pay-per-view was pretty devoid of starpower. And now, we get another mediocre Fight Night at the Apex.
It could be worse though. The main event is a top 10 matchup in the middleweight division, and the co-main is a very intriguing bout between a young up-and-coming lightweight in Matheus Camilo and a grizzled UFC veteran in Jai Herbert.
Can Camilo break through the barrier and enter the top 15 conversation? Or will Herbert turn away another would-be contender? Read on for the latest UFC betting odds for the throwdown as well as our best bet for the fight!
Highlights
- Jai Herbert has only won 2 of his last 5 fights
- Matheus Camilo is only 25 years old but he’s won 2 straight since dropping his UFC debut
- 38-year-old Herbert is 13 years older than his opponent Camilo

Matheus Camilo (11-3) joined the UFC last year, and he has gone 2-1 in his three fights with the promotion. He’s won his last two straight fights as he settles into the UFC, finishing off Nazim Sadykhov in the first round.
On the other side, 38-year-old Jai Herbert (14-6-1) has been around the block and back a few times. He’s only got 21 pro fights, but he’s been doing this for over a decade and the Brit has been a UFC fixture since the height of COVID in 2020. However, the wear and tear is starting to show for the Back Country Banger.
Camilo is all about wrestling. He’s going to go for takedowns in this fight as he always does. He does average nearly five takedowns per fight. And I’m not sure Herbert, who has only stopped about two/thirds of the takedowns attempted against him in his UFC career. Camilo always pushes to get the fight to the ground, and being 13 years younger than Herbert, we think he will be more spry. He’s going to keep doing it until it works, and we think it will work well enough to get him the decision win here.
Best Bet: Matheus Camilo Moneyline (-190)
