FanDuel is helping their bettors out with injuries this NFL season with its bet protect program. The NFL is a dangerous league. And most people who have bet on one of the NFL betting sites know how an injury can ruin a bet. Thanks to FanDuel’s bet protect, bettors can get a refund if a player they bet on is injured in the first quarter.

- Works for parlays, same game parlays, and same game parlay+
FanDuel gives their bettors protection for players injured in the first quarter
FanDuel added a bet protect program to its sportsbook for the NFL that gives bettors a refund in bonus bets if a player they bet on is injured in the first quarter. Each sportsbook has unique rules for refunding bets that often can be found in the terms and conditions. FanDuel’s bet protect gives bettors a quarter of protection for some of their NFL bets.
The sportsbook added bet protection for pre-live NFL player props for offensive players, kickers, and some defensive player wagers. Moneyline bets aren’t eligible for bet protection. The defensive player wagers include total tackles + assists O/U and to record 1+ sacks.
Breaking down how your bet will be protected
For a straight bet, if a player who is bet on is injured in the 1st quarter and doesn’t return to the game, the sportsbook will give the bettor their stake back in bonus bets. The bet won’t be eligible for bet project if the injured player returns at some point in the game after the first quarter. FanDuel bettors don’t have to activate bet protection to get their bets refunded.
Refunds for parlays, same game parlays, and same game parlay+ are slightly different. For those bets, bet protect will re-price the bet with new odds if a player is injured in the first quarter. If the only losing leg of a parlay is the result of a first quarter injury, FanDuel will pay bettors their stake back and re-priced winnings in bonus bets.
More information
All legs of the parlay must be within seven days for the bet to qualify for bet protect. Bonus bets could take up to 24 hours to appear in an account. All bets that are eligible for bet protect will be settled as a loss when the game ends.
Bet protect can be applied to all eligible bets as there is no limit on how many bets can be protected. Rewards won’t be re-issued when bet protect is applied. Any bonus bets that are from bet protect will expire after 21 days.
