The Premier League title race could very well be determined on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City locks horns with first-place Arsenal. The kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET. City is just six points back of the Gunners in the table, and still has a game in hand. They beat Chelsea last weekend, while Arsenal lost to Bournemouth. Manchester City vs Arsenal Odds

City is a clear -115 moneyline favorite on Sunday at soccer betting sportsbooks. Arsenal returns at +330 odds, while a draw is priced at +265.

The reverse fixture finished 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium last fall, and the Sky Blues also just beat the Gunners 2-0 in the Carabao Cup Final a few weeks back.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Analysis

Earlier this season, it felt like a foregone conclusion that Arsenal would ultimately win the Premier League. But City has found its form in recent weeks, while the Gunners have struggled, making it possible to snatch the title from their rivals. Pep Guardiola’s side is enjoying a 14-game unbeaten run domestically, with their only two defeats in recent memory coming against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Sky Blues have won three straight matches, beating Arsenal in the League Cup showpiece before smashing Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup. City only proceeded to take down another giant on matchday 32, having their way with out-of-form Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi, and Jeremy Doku produced the goods for the visitors. City has an 8-4-4 record on the road this term.

Arsenal may be through to the Champions League semifinals for the second year in a row, but the main discussion right now is their potential collapse in England. This isn’t anything new — the Gunners have done this before. However, not all is lost quite yet, and finding a result in this fixture is absolutely crucial. Mikel Arteta’s men have lost three games in a row in England to Man City, Southampton in the FA Cup, and the Cherries last Saturday, thanks to Alex Scott’s winner.

The pressure is undoubtedly on Arsenal for this clash, and if they do secure the three points, they could be in the clear. Their remaining schedule isn’t all that difficult, with Newcastle, Fulham, West Ham, Burnley, and Crystal Palace all up next. A draw on Sunday would be acceptable too, but the only way they salvage any points here is by tidying it up at the back, because City’s attacking weapons are lethal right now.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Injury News

Pep Guardiola should have near-identical options from last weekend’s win over Chelsea. O’Reilly is expected to be fit despite a recent hamstring scare, but City remain without key defenders Ruben Dias (hamstring), Josko Gvardiol (leg) and John Stones (calf), leaving their backline slightly stretched.
Arsenal will travel without Bukayo Saka, who has been ruled out, while Noni Madueke is a minor doubt due to a knee issue. Jurrien Timber, Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori are all being assessed late, and Mikel Merino is still weeks away from returning from a foot injury.

Manchester City vs Arsenal Picks

There’s so much at stake for both sides here, and I do think we’ll get an entertaining, technical battle in Manchester. Despite City’s top form, Arsenal knows the importance of this game, and they will do enough to secure a vital point on the road.
