NFL Week 4 Player Prop Best Bets & Betting Odds

Flickr
Last week did not quite go as planned. That’s definitely the last time we bet so confidently on a backup running back. We dropped all three of our player prop best bets in Week 3, putting David Montgomery, Emmett Johnson (and Andy Reid), and Pat Freiermuth on notice for our black list.
But it’s a long season, and we’re just getting started. We still don’t know exactly who are the contenders and who are the pretenders, who’s really got a bad run defence and who just had a bad week. But we’re getting closer.
And that means it’s only up from here for us. The more info we get, the better our results will be. Read on for our three favourite player props for the NFL’s Week 4 slate, including the latest betting odds from the top Ontario sportsbooks!

- No team allows more receiving yards per game to WRs than the Falcons (201.3)
NFL Week 4: Player Prop Best Bets and Betting Odds
All betting odds provided by Betway.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions - Over 96.5 Rush Yards (-110) @ Carolina Panthers
Jahmyr Gibbs has been lights out to start this campaign. He’s gunning for that Offensive Player of the Year award, and right now he’s in pole position to take it home this year. He’s second in the league with 463 scrimmage yards and he’s tied for the lead in touchdowns with six through three games.
When it comes to player prop betting, however, it’s important to look at game-by-game performances, not just overall numbers, which can be skewed by one or two good or bad games. That’s not a problem with Gibbs. He had 156 yards on the ground in Week 1, had a quiet Week 2 with 52 rush yards (though he did have six receptions for 61 yards), and came back with 99 ground yards in Week 3 (on top of another 65 through the air).
While Gibbs is a guy you can count on to put up solid numbers every week, the Panthers run defence is starting to prove it can also be relied upon every week to provide an awful performance. They have allowed 144.7 rush yards a game to RBs so far this year, including a shocking 5.9 yards per carry. Quinshon Judkins had a season-high 70 last week, Bijan Robinson had 72 the week before (and his backup had 51), and the Panthers allowed two 100-yard rushers in Week 1.
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars - Over 10.5 Receiving Yards (-110) @ Cincinnati Bengals
Bhayshul Tuten hasn’t been blowing the doors off opponents during the first three weeks, but he’s been pretty reliable. He’s covered his rushing yards prop in all three games. However, we’re looking at his receiving number, which is at just 10.5 this week.
He doesn’t get a ton of looks in the passing game, but he’s made the most of his opportunities this season. Tuten took his lone reception for 22 yards in Week 1 and had 17 yards on two catches in Week 3. With a visit to the Bengals on the horizon, we like him to hit this low number again: Cincinnati is allowing 47.0 receiving yards per game to backs, most in the NFL.
Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints - Over 85.5 Receiving Yards (-110) vs. Atlanta Falcons
Through September, Chris Olave is tied for the league lead in receptions (27) and second in the NFL with 375 receiving yards. His QB, Tyler Shough, is coming into his own as a guy who can really air it out no matter what the result of the game. He's also second in the NFL with 917 yards passing through three weeks of football.
Olave’s receiving yards number is 85.5 this week, which is funny because his season-low so far is 86 yards. He had 182 and 107 yards in his other two starts. In Week 4 on Monday Night Football, he gets the abysmal Falcons secondary, which is the only team in the NFL giving up over 200 yards a game to wide receivers (201.3).
