Betovo Review: A Solid Sportsbook Let Down by a Denied Withdrawal

Signing up and funding an account took barely five minutes, and for most of the testing week the Betovo platform did what I needed: clean navigation, a reliable bet slip, and instant Interac deposits with no fees. The problem came at the end. When I tried to withdraw my remaining balance of $52.25, the request sat pending for days and was then denied outright, with no reason given and the money simply returned to my account. A sportsbook that takes deposits instantly but cannot complete a straightforward withdrawal is hard to trust, however well the rest of it performs.

The homepage is busy but not overwhelming, with sports and live betting reachable from the top of the page and a search function that worked well throughout. Creating the account took well under five minutes and asked only for basic personal details, including a male or female selection. Identity verification then came into play before I could place a deposit. I was prompted to photograph a piece of ID, a driver’s license in my case, and take a selfie, which I completed by scanning a QR code and using my phone camera. The process itself was straightforward and added only a few minutes.

The welcome offer I looked at was a first-deposit match, roughly 100 percent up to the value of the deposit, so a $50 deposit would have returned a $50 bonus. The turnover attached to it was the reason I left it alone: 6x the deposit plus bonus, at minimum odds of 1.59, inside 30 days. For a $50 deposit that works out to around $600 in qualifying wagers, which was not realistic in a short testing window. Depositing was the strongest part of the experience: instant, free and well supported. Here is what the cashier offered and how my deposit went:

3. Minimum deposit: $15 CAD on Interac. 
4. Fees: None on either side. 
5. Other methods available: Visa, Mastercard, Revolut, Jetonbank, Flexepin, MiFinity and eZeeWallet, plus crypto including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Tether and Cardano. 

I bet on baseball and ice hockey for this review, which are my usual focus, and the depth was there for both. MLB and NHL were well covered, with the major soccer leagues, tennis and others also available. Odds defaulted to American format on desktop, with the option to switch to decimal. Markets were generally complete, with one gap that stood out, covered below. Same game parlays and a bet builder were both available, and I used them.

The Bets I Placed

My first three bets were all pre-match MLB and all settled correctly. I took the Dodgers run line at -1.5 (around -125) against the Diamondbacks for $2.50, which won. The same run line on the Phillies against the Padres at +115, also $2.50, won as well, and a $2.50 stake on the Pirates moneyline at -105 against the Astros came in too. My one hockey bet, $2.50 on the Vegas moneyline at +125 against Carolina, lost but settled without issue.

The most useful feature was the bet builder. Combining the Blue Jays moneyline with a no extra innings selection lifted the combined price from +150 to +180 on a single ticket, which is the kind of same game parlay the stronger books offer. I also used cash out on a pre-match Phillies run line I had changed my mind about: because the odds had not moved, I was refunded my full stake. On price more broadly, Betovo was a mixed picture against Bet365, a little short on some baseball lines and a little better on others, so it sat roughly in line overall rather than consistently above or below. Across the week I placed 20 bets in total, with the rest following the same low-stake pattern.

Desktop was where I spent most of my time and it held up well. Navigation was quick, the search function found sports and leagues without trouble, and the bet slip was easy to add to and edit without losing selections. I did not hit a single crash, error or slow load across the week on desktop. One genuine gap stood out: I wanted to bet the first five innings of a baseball game and could not find that market anywhere, despite full-game options being present. On mobile there is no dedicated app, only the browser site. It mirrors the desktop layout and carries the same features, but load times were noticeably slower, which is the main reason I stayed on desktop.

I placed a handful of live bets, mostly on baseball. The clearest example was the Braves against the Blue Jays, where I wanted the under 8.5 runs and watched the live price move. It opened around +100, drifted to -121 while I hesitated, then came back to +115 after a runner reached base the following inning, which is where I took it for $2.50. The bet lost, but it settled correctly and quickly once the game ended. In-play odds updated without freezing or lag at any point I was betting, and a live stream was available on some events, though more on e-sports than on the baseball and hockey I was actually betting. Cash out was offered in-play, but the time I used it was on a pre-match bet, covered above.

I used live chat once, on my first day, to ask where I could find the operator’s gambling licence on the site. The response came in under a minute, but it was clearly an AI chatbot: the replies were generic and did not answer the question. I was told the licensing details would be at the top of the terms of service, and when I pushed back that I could not see them there, the agent repeated that they should be in the terms and otherwise pointed me to an email address. I never located the licence through support and ended up sourcing it elsewhere. Quick to respond, but inaccurate and ultimately unhelpful.

This is where Betovo fell down. A single withdrawal, to a verified account using my own deposit method, was declined without explanation. Here is exactly what happened:

A deposit that cleared in seconds and a withdrawal that was refused outright: that asymmetry defined my time with this operator. 

Trust is where Betovo raised the most questions. The licensing was hard to pin down and the safeguards were present but hidden: 

What worked was most of the day-to-day product. Deposits were instant and free, the platform was quick and stable on desktop, the markets covered my baseball and hockey betting well, and the bet builder genuinely added value. What did not work was the part that matters most: I could not get my money out. The withdrawal was denied with no explanation, support was an AI chatbot that gave me inaccurate information, and the licence I would normally check for reassurance was nowhere to be found on the site. This operator might suit a Canadian bettor who already runs several accounts and wants another option for line shopping, on the understanding that the deposit and cash-out experience is the draw, not the payout. As things stand I cannot recommend it as a place to hold a balance, and I would reach for Bet365, FanDuel or DraftKings ahead of it where they are available.

A capable sportsbook for browsing and betting that I cannot recommend while a straightforward withdrawal can be denied without explanation and support cannot give an accurate answer.
