Top Picks for World Cup Day 17 | June 27

Croatia vs Ghana

Croatia Moneyline (-123)

Croatia responded on matchday two with a crucial victory over Panama, and another victory here would solidify their spot as runner-up in this group. While I do expect Ghana to give the Checkered Ones trouble defensively, the former World Cup semifinalists are the higher-quality side, and they will play with maximum intensity from the first whistle. The chances will be few and far between for Croatia, but they will win a close one. I could also see them keeping a clean sheet here, given Ghana's lack of finishing in the final third.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Croatia Clean Sheet (+210)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 Goals (-152)

Panama vs England

England to Win Nil (-125)

England showed their quality on matchday one with a four-goal display against Croatia before an underwhelming scoreless draw with Ghana earlier this week. However, I'm eyeing the Three Lions to respond with authority against Panama. Thomas Tuchel's side never has any issues creating chances, and while they weren't finding the back of the net in Boston, Harry Kane and Co. will find their scoring touch once again ahead of the knockout stages. England is also incredibly tidy defensively, and Panama has yet to score in this World Cup, having lost both games.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Under 3.5 Goals (-141)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Harry Kane Anytime Goal (-172)

Colombia vs Portugal

Colombia vs Portugal to Draw (+280)

Colombia has looked like the class of this group so far, putting together two composed performances. I expect them to give Portugal a serious run for their money, and this fixture will ultimately end level. The Colombians have a deadly attack headlined by Luis Diaz, who can expose the best of them in the final third, while he's accompanied by James Rodriguez in the middle and Sporting star Luis Suarez. Colombia is also extremely stable defensively. The Portuguese may have fired five past Uzbekistan, but the Colombians are a different beast. I do believe both sides will hit the back of the net, though, considering the daunting attacking options on each team.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Cristiano Ronaldo Anytime Goal (-105)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Both Teams to Score (-105)

Congo vs Uzbekistan

Congo to Win Nil (+171)

Congo may be without a win at this World Cup, but the Africans have definitely held their own, and Saturday's clash is a clear opportunity to grab three points. Sebastien Desabre's men secured an impressive draw with Portugal while just barely losing to Colombia by a goal. Uzbekistan has been outscored 8-1 in the tournament, and Congo has looked very organized at the back. Yoane Wissa is a real threat up top, and he's scored Congo's only goal. Uzbekistan has minimal attacking options, and Desabre's team has only conceded twice, to much better sides.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Yoane Wissa Anytime Goal (+120)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 Goals (-111)

Algeria vs Austria

Algeria vs Austria to Draw (+130)

Second place in Group J is at stake here, and I'm expecting a cagey affair in Kansas City. The Algerians have quality in particular areas, and they will give Austria a run for its money. Both teams have shown vulnerability at the back, especially against Argentina, which is why both teams to score is also a valuable pick here. Austria presses hard in the final third, and Algeria has not exactly been solid defensively. Keep an eye on Austria talisman Marko Arnautovic, who has already found the back of the net in the World Cup.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Marko Arnautovic Anytime Goal (+200)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Both Teams to Score (-105)

Jordan vs Argentina

Argentina Over 2.5 Goals (-111)

Argentina has certainly looked the part of the defending World Cup winners. Lionel Scaloni's side has breezed through their first two games, scoring five times and keeping a clean sheet in both matches. Jordan has already conceded five times, and La Albiceleste will be a whole different beast for them up top. Lionel Messi has scored all five of Argentina's goals, and I expect him to rip through the Jordanian backline. Argentina can play in so many different structures and styles, and even if Messi isn't scoring, there are numerous other options, including Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez. This game will be a walk in the park for the title-holders, and I do not expect them to concede, either.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Lionel Messi Anytime Goal (-200)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Argentina to Keep a Clean Sheet (-167)
