Canadiens vs Sabres Game 4 Odds

The Habs are a -134 home favorite at NHL betting sites. The Sabrs come back at +104. The O/U is set at six goals, and the Over has hit in every game so far in the series.

Canadiens vs Sabres Game 4 Analysis

Montreal didn’t look their best in Game 1 as the Sabres fed off the home crowd, grabbing a 4-2 victory. However, that clearly gave the Habs some much-needed motivation. They proceeded to beat Buffalo 5-1 in Game 2, and they also blew them out 6-2 on Sunday at the Bell Centre. 11 goals in two games against one of the better defensive teams in the league is impressive, and another win in Game 4 will put Montreal on the doorstep of the Conference Finals.

Alex Newhook was the star of the show in Game 3, scoring a pair of goals to lead the way. Young defenceman Lane Hutson also registered two assists. Five different players found the back of the net as the Habs truly showcased their impressive depth. Among those scorers was Cole Caufield, who scored 51 goals during the regular season. However, that was just his first of the postseason, and hopefully, it will get him going. The Canadiens were also 2-for-6 on the power play. It was a very complete performance, but the work isn’t done yet.

The Sabres were arguably the biggest surprise of the 2025-26 campaign, emerging as a playoff contender and ultimately winning a very competitive Atlantic Division. They ran through the Boston Bruins in round one before a convincing Game 1 victory over the Habs. But, since then, they’ve looked horrendous, allowing far too many goals, and struggling to put away their chances.

While Buffalo did get production from Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson, who both had a goal and an assist, they simply aren’t containing Montreal’s stars, as the Habs continue to have their way offensively. It won’t get any easier on Tuesday at the chaotic Bell Centre, but another loss here puts them in a ridiculously difficult 3-1 hole. Teams rarely come back and win a series in that position. This is a must-win game for a Sabres team that is more than capable of turning up. But it remains to be seen if they can figure it out before it’s too late.

Canadiens vs Sabres Game 4 Picks

The Sabres hadn’t lost on the road until Sunday in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This is a tough, resilient team who aren’t scared of a challenge. These last two games were a serious wake-up call for Buffalo, and I believe you’ll see them come out and play a great Game 4. The visitors will tie the series up at two.
