BetMGM bettors heavily behind some teams to make the playoffs
Following the 2025 NFL Draft, BetMGM revealed some early public betting data for the 2025-2026 NFL season, and BetMGM bettors have put more than 90 per cent of their money on multiple teams to make the playoffs. With the NFL Draft over, bettors and fans now know more about which players will play for each team when the season starts. The Tennessee Titans drafted quarterback Cam Ward with the first pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter with the second pick, and so on.
Last week, BetMGM revealed how their bettors have bet on the NFL playoffs so far. So far, bettors have put 90 per cent or more money on 19 teams to make the playoffs for the upcoming season. The bettors placed bets on an individual team to make the playoffs (yes) or to miss the playoffs (no).
Teams with more than 90 per cent of money on them to make playoffs
The teams with a betting handle of 90 per cent or more to make the playoffs were the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Washington Commands. 14 teams can make the NFL playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs weren’t one of the teams with more than 90 per cent of the money on them to make the playoffs. 83 per cent of the money was on the Chiefs to make the playoffs. 17 per cent of the money was on the Chiefs to miss the playoffs.
The Seahawks and Patriots were the only teams with more than 90 per cent of the money on them to make the playoffs and less than 80 per cent of the tickets on them to make the playoffs. Every other team listed had at least 80 per cent of the tickets or more. Bettors put 90 per cent or more of their money on the Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins, and New Orleans Saints to miss the playoffs. No other team was over 90 per cent.
Over/under betting numbers
BetMGM also revealed public betting numbers for over/under team win totals. Bettors on the sportsbook also placed most of their money on nine teams to go over. BetMGM bettors put 90 per cent or more of their money on the Atlanta Falcons to go over 7.5 wins, the Bills to go over 11.5 wins, the Browns to go over 5.5 wins, the Raiders to go over 6.5 wins, the Rams to go over 9.5 wins, the Vikings to go over 8.5 wins, the Patriots to go over 7.5 wins, the Titans to go over 5.5 wins, and the Commanders to go over 9.5 wins. BetMGM is one of the few sports betting sites that releases public betting data.
