Hull City vs Manchester United Odds

Manchester United head into Saturday’s clash as a heavy -264 moneyline favorite at soccer betting sites. Hull City are sizeable +719 home underdogs, while the total is set at three goals. The Under is slightly favored at -130, with the Over offering plus-money value at +110.

It’s been nearly a decade since these two sides last met in competitive action, with their previous meetings coming during the 2016-17 campaign. Manchester United have historically dominated this matchup, winning eight of their 10 Premier League meetings with Hull, while the Tigers have never beaten the Red Devils in the English top flight.

Hull City vs Manchester United Analysis

Hull City were a consistent presence in the Championship for much of the last decade after being relegated from the Premier League following an 18th-place finish in 2016-17. But they’re finally back up, and it was a dramatic end to the 2025-26 season when they bested Middlesbrough in the Championship playoffs. Newly promoted sides always have a difficult time getting accustomed to the top flight, and the Tigers will face a stiff test on matchday one.

While Hull is dealing with numerous injury concerns heading into their season opener, attacking duo Oliver McBurnie and Joseph Gelhardt are fit, and they will be relied upon to hopefully produce the goods on a consistent basis this term. The two combined for 33 goals last season, and McBurnie has previous Premier League experience with Sheffield United. Playing on home soil will make the Tigers feel a bit more confident, but the Red Devils will be a very difficult side to beat.

It’s been numerous years of disappointment for Manchester United supporters, but it appears Carrick has finally gotten this historic club back on track. The former Red Devils player takes charge for his first full season as the boss at Old Trafford, and his arrival in January did wonders for United. Carrick led this side back to the Champions League, and while they may not be considered a title contender, a top-three finish is once again very possible.

Bruno Fernandes’ historic ‘25-26 campaign led the way for the Red Devils as he notched a league-record 21 assists, and the club made sure to strengthen their squad in the current transfer window. Youri Tielemans made the switch from Aston Villa, and he gives Carrick another creative option in the final third. Andrey Santos also joined from Chelsea, while Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha will be looking to take another step after impressive debut campaigns at the Theatre of Dreams.

Hull City vs Manchester United Injury News

Hull City enter the season with a lengthy injury list. Jack Butland, Hidemasa Morita, Oscar Zambrano, Darko Gyabi, Charlie Hughes, Cody Drameh and Eliot Matazo are all ruled out, while John Egan, Paddy McNair, Matty Jacob, Enis Destan, Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Liam Miller are doubtful and face late fitness tests ahead of Saturday.

Manchester United also have several notable injury concerns. Benjamin Sesko is a doubt with a shin injury despite returning to training this week, while Mason Mount is unlikely to feature due to a foot issue. Manuel Ugarte remains sidelined long-term with a serious knee injury, while Matthijs de Ligt is also a long-term absentee. He hasn’t played since 2025.

Hull City vs Manchester United Picks

The Tigers are not in great shape from a health standpoint, and United’s main stars are expected to feature. The reality is that the visitors are a much stronger side, and they’ve really started to find some chemistry and cohesion under Carrick. I’ll take the Red Devils to secure the win, and also keep a clean sheet.
