Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Game 3 Odds
| Moneyline | Hurricanes -104 | Golden Knights -102 |
| Total Goals | Ov 5.5 (-114) | Un 5.5 (+100) |
After the Hurricanes sat as heavy favorites at NHL betting sites for Games 1 and 2, things are even here. Carolina has -104 odds, while the Golden Knights have -102 odds. The O/U is set at 5.5, and the Over has cashed in both games so far.
Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Game 3 Analysis
Carolina’s mistakes cost them in the series opener, and Rod Brind’Amour was vocal about just that. The pressure was on for the hosts to come out and play with intensity and focus in Game 2, but they delivered an incredibly poor first period and headed into the third period down two goals. Everything changed in the final frame, though, as the Hurricanes came alive and roared back.
Logan Stankoven’s impressive postseason continued, netting his 10th goal to get Carolina on the board with a terrific individual effort. Mark Jankowski and Jordan Staal both got in on the action as well, helping send Game 2 to overtime. The extra period didn’t last long, as Seth Jarvis hit a perfect one-timer past Carter Hart to send the Canes home with a massive comeback victory.
Vegas certainly deserves credit. While they did sweep a phenomenal Colorado Avalanche team, many expected Carolina to feed off the home energy and take both games at Lenovo Center to begin the series. But, the Golden Knights have given them trouble, playing gritty, structured hockey under head coach John Tortorella. That being said, he won’t be happy with his team blowing a two-goal lead in Game 2.
Controversy was at an all-time high on Thursday evening, and Tortorella was vocal about how the one-ice review went against Vegas. In the third period, Frederik Andersen poked his stick at Ivan Barbashev in full extension, and a scrum ultimately ensued in his crease. The puck trickled into the net, but the officials claimed Andersen was pushed and deemed it goalie interference. Regardless of the decision, Vegas had every chance to win this game, and they will be hungry to respond on home ice after letting a victory slip through their fingertips.
Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Game 3 Picks
Instead of picking a winner here, I’m eyeing the Over. These two combined for nine goals in Game 1, and another seven in Game 2. Yes, both goaltenders are elite, but offense has been the storyline.
I also like Logan Stankoven priced at +104 for Over 2.5 SOG. He’s cashed the Over in shots on target in two of his last four, and in his last road game, Stankoven tallied seven SOG. With tons of confidence and offensive chances coming his way, expect the youngster to be busy.
Pick: Over 5.5 goals (-114), Logan Stankoven Over 2.5 SOG (+104) /TonyBet
