Kings vs Avalanche Game 3 Odds

The top-seeded Avs are a -162 moneyline favorite at NHL betting sites. The Kings come back as a +125 home underdog.

The O/U is set at just 5.5 goals after these two combined for only three goals through Games 1 and 2.

Kings vs Avalanche Game 3 Analysis

Los Angeles qualified for the playoffs on one of the last days of the regular season, and while they sit in a 0-2 hole, the Kings have given the Avalanche a run for their money. A late third-period goal from Colorado handed them a loss in Game 1, and the Avs needed OT to beat LA in Game on Tuesday.

Trade deadline acquisition Artemi Panarin scored his team’s lone goal, while Quinton Byfield and Trevor Moore both tallied an assist apiece. Anton Forsberg was solid in net, making 36 saves on 38 shots against arguably the best offense in the National Hockey League. No one is expecting the Kings to win this series, but they’re on the doorstep of making it interesting, and playing at home may provide them with the jolt they need to get on the board and split Colorado’s lead in half.

The Avs have been looked at as a Cup favorite for countless months now, and it’s understandable why. With a core of Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Gabriel Landeskog, Martin Necas, and Brock Nelson, among others, this squad is loaded. They were first in the NHL in the regular season in goals with 3.63 per contest, while also ranking first in fewest goals allowed, giving up just 2.4 per game.

While the defense has undoubtedly shown up, their offense has yet to really wake up. After all, they had scored eight goals across their last two meetings with the Kings before this series kicked off. MacKinnon, who notched 127 points in 2025-26, has just one point so far. Makar, meanwhile, is pointless. Needless to say, the stars need to wake up.

Kings vs Avalanche Game 3 Picks

It’s only a matter of time until the likes of Makar and MacKinnon start dominating, and Colorado has comfortably won two of their last three in Los Angeles against the Kings. Yes, LA was impressive defensively, but the Avs will show exactly why they’re expected to be competing for a Lord Stanley in June.
