Liverpool and Brighton square off on Sunday at Anfield, with kickoff scheduled for 10 a.m. ET. The Reds are beginning to find their footing, winning three straight matches across all competitions, including a thrilling 4-3 Champions League victory over Villarreal on Tuesday. Brighton, meanwhile, are absolutely flying, sitting third in the Premier League table after hammering Crystal Palace 5-0 last weekend.  Read below for our Liverpool vs Brighton picks.

Liverpool vs Brighton Odds

There's very little separating these sides in the betting market, with soccer betting sites pricing Liverpool at +108 to secure three points. Brighton are available at +220, while a draw pays +275. The three-goal total also suggests another entertaining affair could be in the cards.

Liverpool have enjoyed plenty of success against Brighton at Anfield, winning four consecutive home meetings across all competitions. However, the Seagulls won the most recent clash between these clubs, securing a 2-1 victory at the Amex Stadium in March.

Liverpool vs Brighton Analysis

Liverpool have experienced an inconsistent start to the Andoni Iraola era, sitting fifth in the Premier League with a 3-3-1 record. The Reds are just four points behind Brighton, but their struggles at Anfield have been concerning. They've failed to win any of their opening three league matches on home soil, most recently suffering a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

However, Liverpool have responded brilliantly. Iraola's men followed up a 6-3 Champions League victory over LASK with a 2-1 win against Brentford before edging Villarreal 4-3 in another European thriller on Tuesday. The Reds battled back from a two-goal deficit against the Spanish outfit, with Alexis Mac Allister scoring a brace.

Alexander Isak is also finding his rhythm, scoring five goals in as many Premier League appearances. Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz has been Liverpool's primary creative outlet, leading the league with 20 chances created. The attacking quality is certainly there, but defensive lapses remain a major concern, especially against a Brighton side firing on all cylinders.

The Seagulls have been one of the biggest surprises of the campaign, sitting third with a 5-1-1 record. Fabian Hurzeler's squad have been absolutely ruthless in the final third, scoring a league-leading 23 goals through seven matches. They've also been defensively sound, conceding just five times.
Brighton have won four consecutive Premier League fixtures by a combined score of 15-0, including a statement 3-0 victory over reigning champions Arsenal. The Seagulls followed that up with a dominant 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace last weekend.

The visitors did see their six-match winning streak across all competitions end Thursday, settling for a scoreless draw with Jablonec in the Conference League. However, Hurzeler rested several regular starters, keeping his squad relatively fresh for this difficult trip to Merseyside.

Liverpool vs Brighton Injury News

Liverpool will be without Dominik Szoboszlai, Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike, and Giovanni Leoni due to injury. Victor Munoz is also doubtful, although Bradley Barcola has recovered from a minor fitness concern and is available.

Brighton have several absentees themselves, with Kaoru Mitoma, Evan Ferguson, Stefanos Tzimas, Femi Azeez, and Zadok Yohanna sidelined. Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, and Pascal Struijk are also fitness concerns ahead of this clash.

Liverpool vs Brighton Picks

Liverpool are starting to build momentum, but their inability to win at Anfield in the league is troubling. Brighton have been outstanding in the final third, and I expect them to cause issues for a Reds backline that just conceded three goals against Villarreal.

The Seagulls have also kept four straight league clean sheets, giving them every reason to feel confident heading into this affair. With Brighton in such impressive form and Liverpool struggling on home soil, I like the visitors to secure at least a point.
