Manchester City vs PSG Odds
Soccer betting sites have priced Manchester City as a +121 moneyline favorite for this clash, while PSG return at +200. A draw is priced at +300, while the O/U is set at 3.5 goals.
These two European giants last met in the 2024-25 Champions League, with PSG producing a stunning comeback to win 4-2 after trailing by two goals. However, City have won four of the seven previous Champions League meetings.
Manchester City vs PSG Analysis
It's difficult to imagine a better start to the campaign for Manchester City. After Pep Guardiola's departure, there were certainly questions about how this squad would respond under Maresca. But the Citizens have hit the ground running, winning eight straight matches across all competitions while scoring 23 goals. They're also sitting atop the Premier League table with a perfect 6-0-0 record.
City are fresh off arguably their most impressive victory yet, dismantling Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday. Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, and Rayan Cherki all found the net in the second half, with the visitors taking full advantage of a Liverpool red card. Haaland continues to produce the goods in the final third, scoring eight times in eight appearances this term.
The Citizens have also looked extremely comfortable on home soil, and their European record at the Etihad is impressive. City have lost just once in their last 25 home Champions League group-stage or league-phase matches. However, facing the defending champions will be a much tougher test than most of their opponents so far.
PSG haven't enjoyed the same flawless start domestically, but they're beginning to find their groove. Enrique's men failed to win their opening three Ligue 1 matches, collecting just two points. Since then, the Parisians have turned things around with three consecutive league victories, most recently beating Le Mans 3-1 on Saturday.
The French giants were also absolutely clinical in their Champions League opener, putting six past Slovan Bratislava. Their attacking quality is undeniable, with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue capable of causing problems for any backline. PSG have also gone unbeaten in their last 11 European meetings against English opposition.
While City are in excellent form, PSG have proven they can compete with the best teams in Europe. They overturned a two-goal deficit against the Citizens in their last meeting, and Enrique's squad will be confident of producing another strong performance. However, PSG have struggled historically at the Etihad, failing to win in four previous visits.
Manchester City vs PSG Injury News
Manchester City have no major injury concerns heading into Wednesday's clash, giving Maresca plenty of options. Phil Foden is also available after serving a domestic suspension, while Haaland is expected to lead the attack.
PSG are dealing with a minor injury concern surrounding midfielder Senny Mayulu, who is expected to miss out. Dembele and Nuno Mendes were rested over the weekend, but both should return to the starting lineup against City.
Manchester City vs PSG Picks
Both sides have plenty of attacking firepower, and this should be an entertaining encounter. However, City have been untouchable under Maresca, and their dominant performance at Anfield was another statement. PSG are dangerous, but I like the Citizens to continue their winning ways on home soil.
