The Netherlands enter Thursday’s Nations League opener looking to put a disappointing World Cup behind them. That ultimately cost Ronald Koeman his job, with Xavi Hernández now tasked with getting one of Europe’s most talented squads back on track.

The Netherlands will be without Donyell Malen after the in-form Roma forward withdrew from the squad through injury.
