Odds Movement

After Week 1, the top two favourites, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, saw their lead atop the odds board lengthen as their odds shortened even more to +450 and +650, respectively. Caleb Williams took a big jump up to +800 and the No. 3 spot on the board.

Joe Burrow remained fourth with +900 odds, but most of the rest of the pack, and Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence also saw big jumps after solid Week 1 performances. The rest of the pack saw their odds jump significantly, with preseason favourites Justin Herbert and Drake Maye both seeing their odds double from +1,000 to +2,000 after brutal losses in their 2026 debuts.

The Favourite: Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills (+650)

We were reticent to bet on Josh Allen back in the spring, and with his odds continuing to shorten, he doesn't offer a ton of value even if he is the favourite. He’s been in the conversation nearly every year since 2021, and he finally won one in 2024.

The addition of a bonafide WR1 in D.J. Moore cannot be understated: when Stefon Diggs was in town, Allen was putting up gaudy numbers every year. He’ll also have that improved ground game led by James Cook and one more year of chemistry with head coach Joe Brady, who was supposedly the QB’s choice to replace Sean McDermott last year.
