Who will be this year’s Offensive Player of the Year in the NFL? The last few winners, including last year’s OPOY, Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, kind of came out of nowhere, at least as far as NFL betting sites were concerned.

It’s not uncommon for the OPOY to be won by someone with odds above +2,000 during preseason, as JSN did in 2025. With that said, let’s dive into the latest OPOY betting odds as we provide you with weekly odds updates!

Highlights

  • Jahmyr Gibbs did nothing in Week 1 to change his status as the big favourite for OPOY
  • The last two OPOY winners had preseason odds of +2,200 or longer
  • A QB has not won OPOY since 2018, when Patrick Mahomes won both MVP and OPOY

Odds Movement

Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson both had great Week 1 performances even if their teams looked shaky. It seems like it will be a two-horse race between these guys, with Gibbs out to an early lead.

Puka Nacua and Ja'Marr Chase's odds jumped, as did CMC's after rookie Kaelon Black out-carried him in Week 1. Week 1 injuries to Brock Bowers and A.J. Brown have pretty much ruled them out of the race early.

Justin Jefferson, Derrick Henry, and Amon-Ra St. Brown all saw their odds shorten after putting up solid numbers in Week 1. However, the biggest mover was definitely Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III, who had 191 scrimmage yards and two TDs as the K.C. offence did indeed run through him. It seems Andy Reid wasn't lying after all. Get him while he's hot right now at +1,200.

Preseason Best Value Bet: Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers (+1,600)

We took Gibbs as our best bet back in March, but that was when his odds were a bit more reasonable at +750. Now down at +550, we don’t love the value, though we still think he’s a great shout to win this award. For value though, we look to CMC, whose odds jumped from +1,000 to +1,600 over the course of the offseason.

CMC won this award in 2023 and was a very close second last year, and we think he has a great chance to challenge again. He remains the focal point of what should remain a potent Kyle Shanahan attack in San Francisco, and it looks like the substation is laying off CMC and instead taking down all his teammates this time around. Every healthy season for CMC at this point in his career will be at or near-OPOY level.

Another name we like is Justin Jefferson, who also saw his odds rise to +1,600 from +1,400. Jefferson won this award in 2022, and like CMC, he’s pretty much at an OPOY level whenever he plays a full 17-game campaign. Now that he’s got a proven and quality QB in Kyler Murray back in his huddle, he should challenge for all the big awards again.

Preseason Dark Horse Candidate: De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins (+6,500)

There’s no doubt in our mind that Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is going to have a massive season for the tanking Fins. That’s the only caveat with this pick: would they give OPOY to the best player on a 3-win team? Probably not.

But that’s probably why his odds have jumped from +2,800 to +6,500 as Miami has offloaded all of its talent and clearly set their sights on a tank job in 2026. If Malik Willis can somehow make them respectable, however, Achane’s gaudy numbers will have to be respected in awards races.
