2026 NFL Futures: Rushing Yards Leader Betting Odds Tracker

Public Domain
Like with most statistical categories in the NFL over the past quarter century, it’s very rare to see a player repeat as the league leader in rushing yards. James Cook paced the league last year with over 1,600, but he is primed to be overtaken by a resurgent field of bell cow backs in the mix this season.

Odds Movement
Kenneth Walker III and his 173 Week 1 yards topped the NFL to open the campaign, and it saw his odds to lead the league in rushing go from out of the race at +3,300 to very much in the top five at +700.
Preseason favourites Derrick Henry and Jahmyr Gibbs both lived up to their expectations and remain atop the odds board and in the top three in rushing through one week of action.
Meanwhile, James Cook, Saquon Barkley, Javonte Williams, and De'Von Achane all saw their odds skyrocket after less-than-impressive showings in Week 1.
Though it was against the Titans, Breece Hall's 102-yard performance in Week 1 also saw his odds drop to +1,400 from +3,300.
Preseason Best Bet: Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions (+650)
Jahmyr Gibbs has looked like the most talented and high potential running back in football since he entered the league in 2023. And he’s finally got the backfield to himself. Lions fans may have enjoyed the whole Sonic and Knuckles thing with David Montgomery, but the latter’s departure really opens things up for the former.
Isiah Pacheco was brought in but we can’t imagine he’ll command the same level of usage as Montgomery did. Gibbs has never had more than 250 carries, but he’s still put up 1,200+ yards in back-to-back seasons. Imagine if he gets 300 carries, what kind of numbers a guy with his vision and athleticism and durability could do. We’ve been high on this guy for a while, and we agree with his head coach Dan Campbell: he’s ready to explode.
Preseason Long Shot Dark Horse Candidate: Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers (+2,200)
If you want a long shot, however, we like Christian McCaffrey to play a full season, defeat the substation, and return to the peak of the rushing pile like he was in 2023. McCaffrey has survived a real gauntlet of a training camp that has felled many of his 49ers teammates, and he was able to handle a very heavy load for San Francisco last year. We don’t expect that to change in 2026. The only obstacle is the substation and its wiles.
