October a big month for the Ontario iGaming market
The latest iGaming Ontario market performance report revealed that Ontario’s iGaming market reached new highs in October for a few categories. Ontario recorded its highest cash wagers, active player accounts, and average revenue per player account. iGaming Ontario’s latest market performance report provided some insight into the Ontario market for the year as 2025 nears the end. The numbers indicate an increase in iGaming participation and activity from the beginning and middle of 2025. These numbers include the casino, betting, and peer-to-peer poker.
iGaming Ontario reported $9.2 billion in cash wagers for October, the highest so far in 2025. September was the month with the second highest cash wagers in 2025 with $8.5 billion. Cash wagers rose in Ontario every month since declining in June.
Most active player accounts
The regulated betting sites also had their highest number of active player accounts with 1.2 million. September had the second most active player accounts with 1.1 million. The number of active player accounts in the province increased every month since July, the month with the least active player accounts so far this year.
Non-adjusted gross revenue was the third category to reach a new high in October. iGaming Ontario reported $368 million in non-adjusted gross revenue. The previous high for 2025 was $338 million in May.
Most monthly cash wagers for betting
The betting — which includes sports, Esports, exchange betting, proposition and novelty bets — monthly cash wagers was also the highest for 2025 in October. Ontario bettors wagered over $1.2 billion on betting in October. March was the month with the second most money wagered with over $1.1 billion. Non-adjusted gross revenue for betting was $58 million in October.
Non-adjusted gross gaming revenue is a representation of total cash wagers with rake fees, tournament fees, and other fees for all operators minus player winnings derived from cash wagers and doesn’t account for operating costs or other liabilities. Cash wagers don’t include bonuses. The number of active player accounts represents accounts with cash and/or promotional wagering activities during the reporting month and isn’t a representation of unique players because some individuals have an account with multiple operators.
