This has been an extremely even series, and there’s once again no Game 6 favorite at NHL betting sites. The Wild sit at -124 on the moneyline, while the Stars come back at -104.
The O/U is set at 5.5 goals, and the Over has cashed in five of the six games so far.
Wild vs Stars Game 6 Analysis
Minnesota has looked fantastic in this series, and this team is showing they’re more than capable of making a deep run in these playoffs. The Wild won Game 1 by a score of 6-1 before dropping Games 2 and 3. But Minny showed serious resilience, winning the last two contests. The always-electrifying Matt Boldy played hero in Game 4, scoring the OT winner on the road.
Boldy was a key component in Game 5 as well, finishing with one goal and one assist. But it was superstar Kapril Kaprizov who stole the show, having his hand in three of Minnesota’s four goals. The Wild outshot the Stars 28-22 and finished 1-for-3 on the power play. With a potential close-out Game 6 on home ice, there’s no shortage of motivation for Minny here.
It’s not often in these past years that the Stars have their backs up against the wall this early in the playoffs, but that’s the case at the moment. Jason Robertson continues to prove why he’s one of the best players in the league, scoring five goals and tallying three assists in the series. But the Stars aren’t getting enough contributions from elsewhere over these last two games, with Wyatt Johnston failing to register a single point.
Going on the road for a potential elimination game isn’t easy for any team, but this Dallas group is experienced, and they won’t be shying away from the moment. The Stars did snatch Game 3 in overtime in St. Paul, and it will likely be another battle here. Shutting down Boldy and Kaprizov will be key for the visitors, because both guys continue to light up Dallas and make a difference in the series.
Wild vs Stars Game 6 Picks
This matchup has been such a treat to watch, and I expect another dogfight in Game 6. While home ice advantage definitely favors the Wild, Dallas is still one of the best teams around, and they will bounce back after a pair of losses. Take the Stars to force a Game 7 back in Texas.
