2026-2027 NBA Futures: DPOY November Betting Odds Update

Flickr
Last year, Victor Wembanyama won his first Defensive Player of the Year award, getting all 100 first place votes. That makes Wemby the first player in NBA history to win the award in unanimous fashion. No joking. And we would bet the house and everything else we can get our hands on that won’t his final DPOY win.
Can anyone stop the tall Frenchman–who is also in the mix for MVP–from winning his second straight DPOY in 2026-2027? We’ve already seen a few weeks of the season, and the odds have shifted pretty significantly. Read on for the latest NBA betting odds as well as our breakdown of how they’ve moved since we last looked at them in July!
Highlights
- Victor Wembanyama is an even bigger favourite now than he was preseason
- Big men once again dominate the odds board for DPOY
- Only 2 guards have won DPOY over the last 35 years

Odds Movement
So, yeah. Victor Wembanyama is not only still the favourite to become the first player to go back-to-back winning Defensive Player of the Year since Rudy Gobert in 2019, he’s also grown his lead on the odds board massively. He was just -180 back in July, which now seems like amazing value. To start November, he sits at a whopping -425.
And we’ve still got a full season to play. The big fella has only played eight games so far. But that’s how dominant he’s been. He’s averaging 4.5 blocks per game–and the guy in second place has just 2.8. He’s almost lapping the field. And if he could boost that number even more up to 5.0, he could join the giant Mark Eaton as the only two players ever to average five swats a game for a full season.
At this point, it will take an injury that keeps Wembanyama from playing the necessary 65 games. But even still, let’s take a quick look at the field. Who knows, in the very near future, an NBA futures betting market called “DPOY - Minus Victor Wembanyama” could be a more popular one than the regular one that includes the Frenchman.
Scottie Barnes has vaulted into second place despite not being in the top 15 in preseason. If the Raptors remain competitive while Kawhi Leonard is out, maybe he could make this interesting? But we doubt it. He is likely heading for his second career All-Defensive Team recognition though.
Elsewise, we have Ausar Thompson, who is an excellent defender but maybe not DPOY material yet and Rudy Gobert, who the voters are unlikely to vote for again after being mocked so often for giving him four of these trophies. They’ve dropped their odds down to +1,500 and +2,800 down from +5,000 in preseason, so not a negligible jump.
Bam Adebayo was at +4,000 during preseason and remains at +4,000 now. If we were going to bet on someone other than Wemby to win this, it would probably be him. He’s got the star power and the numbers to back it up, and he probably should have one by now, having been in the top 11 of voting in seven of the past eight years.

Premier League: Fulham vs Newcastle Odds, Analysis, & Picks
Taking a look at the odds for Fulham vs Newcastle on Saturday in the Premier League as these two meet in London, while also providing predictions for the match and in-depth analysis.

Golden Knights vs. Red Wings Prediction, Odds and Exact Score for Nov. 5
Detroit has struggled to generate offence, averaging just 2.88 goals per game, ranking 24th in the NHL. Scoring won't get any easier against Vegas, which allows only 2.82 goals per game, the sixth-best mark in the league. The Golden Knights enter as road favourites, but Detroit's moneyline is getting close to a price that might be worth a look.

Bruins vs. Penguins Prediction, Odds and Exact Score for Nov. 5
Boston has been one of the NHL's tougher teams to score against, allowing just 2.38 goals per game, fourth-best in the league. Pittsburgh hasn't enjoyed nearly the same defensive success, surrendering 3.40 per game (24th). Yet despite that sizeable gap, the betting market can barely separate them, with the Penguins at -110 and the Bruins at -111.
