No. 4 women’s bantamweight contender Norma Dumont is matched up with No. 5 Ailin Perez in what could very well turn out to be a title eliminator at 135 pounds. Brazilian Norma Dumont (13-3) was all set up to get a title shot her last time out, but her upset loss to Joselyne Edwards in April threw a monkey wrench into those plans. She only dropped to No. 4 in the women’s bantamweight rankings, however, so she could still get a shot at the belt with a win here against the No. 5 contender at 135.

The contender in question is Argentinian AIlin Perez (13-2) of post-win twerking fame. Perez also beat Edwards by unanimous decision back in 2024, which one would think would be working in her favour here. The oddsmakers certainly think so.

Dumont is a bigger and better striker, but Perez won’t mind the size advantage, as she all about the takedowns anyway. She averages nearly five takedowns a per three-round fight, and while Dumont has a 70+ percent takedown defence, she hasn’t fought many wrestlers lately.

Dumont’s last three wins have come against fighters that are now either retired or released from the UFC. Perez, meanwhile, has won six straight including that one against Edwards (who is on a five-win streak of her own and sitting as the top contender at bantamweight) and her most recent win against No. 13 Macy Chiasson.

This almost certainly ends in a decision win for Perez, but the moneyline is low enough to just take that and play it safe.
