The 2026 NFL regular season is right around the corner with Week 1 of preseason basically all wrapped up. That means it’s time to turn our attention to the real deal: futures betting markets for this upcoming NFL campaign!

We’ve already covered a wide range of markets, including who is set to lead the league in rushing, receiving, and passing. Now, we move onto the defensive categories. They don’t get as much fanfare, but they’re just as much fun to bet.

Especially the defensive interceptions leader futures betting market, which is one of the most unpredictable options you can find on sports betting sites. Unfortunately, the odds remain off the board for this market, but we’re going to take a brief look anyway! Read on for the latest analysis of the race for the 2026 NFL INT crown!

Highlights

  • The betting odds for the defensive interceptions leader are not yet on the board
  • Bears safety Kevin Byard led the league with 7 interceptions last year
  • Only 2 players have reached 10+ INTs in a season since 2007

Our Best Bet: Donte Jackson, CB, Los Angeles Chargers

The thing about this category is that the very best of the defensive backs don’t usually lead the league in interceptions because offences know better than to attack and test them. The lesser known guys usually have much better betting odds as well.

Donte Jackson is just what you want here: a veteran who seems secure in a starting role but who also isn’t exactly a lockdown guy. He had four interceptions last year and five the year before with the Steelers. Apart from the 2023 campaign, Jackson has recorded 2+ interceptions in every season.

Long Shot Dark Horse Candidate: Mansoor Delane, CB, Kansas City Chiefs (Rookie)

We haven’t seen a rookie lead the league in interceptions in over 60 years, and the only guys to ever do it were Paul Krause (all-time interceptions leader) and Dick “Night Train” Lane (NFL-record 14 INTs as a rookie in 1952). That would put Mansoor Delane in some really good company.

Obviously, we’re not saying Delane is comparable to either of those guys or that he’s on track to have Hall of Fame careers like they did. This is a long shot bet, don’t forget. But he is in an interesting spot. He was the No. 6 overall pick and he’s already slotting in as one of the two starting outside corners for K.C.

He’s going to get a lot of snaps, and with an expected bounce back season for the usually potent Chiefs offence and veteran Pro Bowler L’Jarius Sneed manning the other side, he’s going to be tested plenty. He also had six INTs over his final two college seasons.
