The Favourites

Unsurprisingly, the top five players on the receptions chart for 2025 are the top five on the odds board to lead the league in this category again. Puka Nacua (+450) is out, as only two players have ever led the league in receptions in back-to-back seasons.

Ja’Marr Chase (+475), Amon-Ra St. Brown (+550), and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+650) are all decent shouts, as they have consistently been among the best wideouts in the league over the past few years. However, the other guy in the top five is the one we think has the best chance to make the leap to the top of the receptions food chain in 2026.

Our Best Bet: Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals (+850)

A tight end hasn’t led the NFL in receptions since the 1980s. But there has also never been a tight end that put up a campaign like Trey McBride did in 2025. The guy finished with 126 receptions, and he could be in for an improvement on that impressive number in 2026, believe it or not.

McBride played with Kyler Murray as his quarterback for the first few games of 2025, and their connection was alright. But once Jacoby Brissett took over under center, McBride became the most targeted player in the NFL. He averaged 8.1 receptions per game over Brissett’s 12 starts, which would result in 137.7 receptions across a full 17-game season.

Brissett is signed, sealed, and delivered for the 2026 season, and with the Cardinals likely looking at a tanking season, he will be in for the season unless he’s injured. It also means there will be a lot of playing catch-up, which means more passing opportunities. That means McBride will get fed early and often in 2026, and if he continues at the same level he did with Brissett last year, he should blow the competition out of the water.

Long Shot Dark Horse Candidate: Malik Nabers, New York Giants (+5,000)

If you want more juice on your bet, Malik Nabers is very intriguing at +5,000. We’re not high on the Giants, but we’re always high on Malik Nabers. He missed most of his sophomore year, but he should be good to go for the 2026 season, when the Giants will be playing from behind a lot as well. He had 109 receptions in just 15 games as a rookie, and no matter who plays QB for New York this year, Nabers should be the go-to guy.
