Some might have thought that it would take a while for the UFC to one-up itself after putting an event on at the literal White House in D.C. in June. But less than a month later, they have already done just that: UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena will mark the return of megastar Conor McGregor to the octagon.

Whatever you think of McGregor (and there’s lots of bad there), he puts butts in seats. And he’s taking on fan favourite Max Holloway, which makes this a delicious hero vs. villain setup.

The rest of the UFC 329 main card is excellent too, with the five-fight schedule beginning with what promises to be an explosive matchup between veteran King Green and finisher Terrance McKinney. Check out the tale of the tape, UFC betting odds, and our full fight preview for Green vs. McKinney!

King Green (35-17-1, 1 NC) seemed to be on his way out of the sport back when his name was still Bobby. He lost three of four to proper fighters in Paddy Pimblett, Jalin Turner, and Mauricio Ruffy. However, he’s bounced back with three straight wins, including two finishes already this year.

However, his last win over Jeremy Stephens was less than two months ago. And with Green turning 40 later this year, that’s definitely worth noting. The last two times he fought on less than two months' rest (December 2023 vs. Turner and October 2020 vs. Thiago Moises), he lost.

Green is getting up there in age, but his hands are still very fast, and he could frustrate a guy like Terrance McKinney (18-8) that likes to be aggressive. Green’s jab is excellent, so that could be a way for him to keep McKinney at bay. But McKinney also has a size advantage here, and Green has struggled against big-bodied guys like that recently in Turner, Pimblett, and Ruffy.

McKinney has seen the second round just twice in his UFC 13 UFC fights, but he has gone 8-5 in those fights. So he can get a guy out early, but his no-holds-barred style can also lead to early losses for him.

McKinney hasn’t been great whenever he takes on opposition around his own level, and Green is certainly still fighting top-level guys at 155. Green’s last two wins against Jeremy Stephens and Daniel Zellhuber are better than any wins McKinney has had against the slop in the lightweight division.

On the big stage here at UFC 329, we’re going to go against the grain: this fight isn’t going to end in the first round as seven straight McKinney fights have done. Green is going to use his quickness and jab to keep McKinney away from him, and the younger fighter’s gas tank is going to falter, allowing this fight to go longer than usual.
