Liverpool is a heavy -114 favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Chelsea comes back at +280, while a draw is priced at +309. The O/U is set at 3.5 goals, and the Under has cashed in three of the last four meetings.
Despite the Blues’ poor form, they’ve enjoyed themselves against Liverpool in recent memory, winning back-to-back matches. The reverse fixture in October ended 2-1 in Chelsea’s favor at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Analysis
The Reds certainly haven’t been the same dominant side that lifted the Premier League trophy last term, but they’re still having a respectable campaign. Liverpool sits in fourth with 58 points, compiling a 17-7-11 record. However, Aston Villa also has 58 points, so any slip-up right now for Arne Slot’s men could be costly. They must keep their foot on the gas pedal, and there’s no shortage of motivation heading into Saturday’s affair.
Liverpool lost to United last weekend in a goal-filled 3-2 thriller, with Kobbie Maino scoring a late winner for the Red Devils. That defeat certainly wasn’t ideal, but since Aston Villa also lost to relegation-threatened Tottenham,  the Merseysiders remained in fourth place. Prior to the United result, Slot’s group did win three straight Premier League games though, and their form at home is a mile better, going 10-4-3 compare to 7-3-8 away from Anfield.
At this point, it’s safe to say the 2025-26 season has been a disaster for Chelsea. The current Club World Cup title-holders haven’t done much right, and they’ve already gone through two managers. Enzo Maresca was only fired at the turn of the year, and the board just decided to sack Liam Rosenior as well after barely three months on the job.
Europe appears to be a long shot for Chelsea. They’re sitting in ninth place with a 13-9-13 record. The Blues are just four points behind sixth-place Bournemouth, but the side in the worst form of their season. They’ve lost eight of their last 10 games across all competitions, and Forest, who are at risk of going down, hammered them 3-1 on matchday 35. While Liverpool is never an easy side to play, Chelsea’s form against them is a promising sign that a positive result could be secured here.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Injury News
Liverpool is dealing with several injury concerns ahead of the weekend clash. Alexander Isak missed the trip to Old Trafford with a minor groin issue and remains doubtful, while Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konate also face late fitness tests after missing training on Wednesday. Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili are sidelined as well, while Mohamed Salah, Wataru Endo, Giovanni Leoni, and Conor Bradley are all ruled out.
Chelsea also has fitness issues to navigate. Jesse Derry suffered a frightening head injury and was stretchered off following a collision with Zach Abbott, while Robert Sanchez was also involved in a head clash that could leave Filip Jorgensen starting in goal. Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens are all hoping to be fit in time, but Estevao Willian remains sidelined with a thigh problem, and Mykhaylo Mudryk continues to serve a doping ban.
Liverpool vs Chelsea Picks
A turn in form has to come sooner or later for Chelsea, who haven’t found their best in a very long time. Neither side is convincing lately, though, and I am expecting a cagey affair at Anfield. I’ll take a hard-fought point for each side.
