The Green Bay Packers lost a heartbreaker on a last-second field goal to the division-rival Detroit Lions, dropping them to fourth place in the NFC North despite still being 4-3. The Packers will be desperate here on Thursday Night Football to keep pace in the best division in football. But they’re also going up against another team looking to bounce back: the Carolina Panthers.

They were just shellacked 43-13 in a divisional game themselves. However, they still sit atop the NFC South at 3-3 with a chance to extend their lead if they can come up with an upset at Lambeau as 3.5-point dogs. Which players will step up for each side? Read on for breakdown and our favourite player props for this prime time NFL matchup, as well as the top NFL betting odds!

Highlights

  • MarShawn Lloyd had 20 rushing yards last week in Josh Jacobs’ return
  • Matthew Golden has had a 20+ yard reception in 5 of 7 games, including the last 3 in a row
  • Jalen Coker has gone for 65+ yards in 3 of 5 games this season

MarShawn Lloyd, RB, Green Bay Packers - Over 18.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

MarShawn Lloyd has been relegated back to a reserve role with Josh Jacobs back from disappointingly fast from his suspension for domestic abuse. Jacobs might have been a good bet here too, but we figured both would hit their overs and this way we don’t have to bet on such a crappy guy.

Lloyd’s number is also surprisingly low, at just 18.5 while Jacobs’ is very high, up at 60+. He had only 36 last week in his season debut, while Lloyd had 20 yards on six carries. He’s hit 20+ yards in four of seven games this season. But we have a feeling he’s going to get to this number even if he ties his season low with four carries.

That’s because the Panthers have the worst run defence in the NFL, and they are specifically bad against RBs, allowing an NFL-high 126.8 rush yards a game. They allowed just 80 combined rush yards to the Eagles and Lions on either side of their Week 5 bye, but in every other game they’ve given up 130+, including 258 last week to the Buccaneers. There should be room for all.

Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers - To Record a 20-Yard Reception (-200)

Matthew Golden ran the fastest time at the 2025 NFL combine, which helped him come to the attention of the Packers, who took him in the first round. After a rocky rookie season, the speedster is showing what all that speed can really do for an offence over the last few weeks.

He’s got 12+ targets in each of the last two games, 6+ receptions in each of the last three, and 95+ yards in four of seven games this year. He is also one of the best deep threats in the game, averaging 15.0 yards a catch, which is why we like him to record a 20-yarder against the Panthers. He’s got 10 on the season, fifth-most in football, and he has at least one in four of his last five games.

Jalen Coker, WR, Carolina Panthers - Over 62.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

The Packers defence has some patches in it. Notably in the secondary, where they allow 14.1 receptions a game to wide receivers, second-most in the NFL. They also over 155 yards per game to WRs specifically. Jalen Coker is now fully back from his injury, and we think he and Tetairoa McMillan should have a fun night at Lambeau.

McMillan’s number is way up in the mid-70s, however, so we’re more comfortable with Coker. He was invisibly last week, but we think that means he’ll be pushing that much harder this week. Before that, he had gone for 65+ receiving yards in four of five games this season. The Packers have allowed two receivers to go for 70+ yards in back-to-back games. Before that, Drake London and Justin Jefferson also had big days against this secondary.
