We were right and we were wrong on our late Sunday afternoon best bets in Week 1. Justin Jefferson and Jacoby Brissett went way over their numbers as we predicted. But the Eagles allowed a back door cover to the Commanders and Michael Mayer fell a few yards shy of what we needed in Brock Bowers’ absence.

We’ll look to get on the positive side in Week 2 with a five-game slate scheduled for the 4PM late Sunday window. Read on for our best bets for each game, including the latest NFL betting odds.

2026 Late Sunday 4PM Best Bets: 2-2 (-0.18)
2025 Late Sunday 4PM Best Bets: 22-14 (+2.81)

Highlights

  • Broncos HC Sean Payton said this week he intends to get Jaylen Waddle the ball more
  • Kyle Shanahan said CMC was playing through cramps in Week 1
  • Dak Prescott is 13-2 straight up against the Commanders in his career

All betting odds provided by Betway.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) @ Denver Broncos (0-1) - 4:05PM

TeamMoneylinePoint SpreadTotal (Over/Under)
Jacksonville Jaguars+126+2.5 (+100)O45.5 (-105)
Denver Broncos-148-2.5 (-120)U45.5 (-115)

The Broncos spent big to bring Jaylen Waddle this offseason, trading the Dolphins first, third, and fourth-round picks. While the Broncos used some fancy financial footwork to limit his cap hit this season by turning much of his salary into a signing bonus, Waddle is still one of their top-paid players, and no doubt they want him to provide value for the trade.

He did not do that in Week 1, when he had just one reception for two yards on three targets. That’s not going to be a weekly thing for a guy on a three-year, $84 million deal who you paid a first-rounder to get.

Head coach Sean Payton said they’re going to be more “deliberate” about getting Waddle the ball moving forward. We’re taking him at his word as the desperate Broncos look to bounce back from an embarrassing Week 1 performance.

Best Bet: Jaylen Waddle Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) @ Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) - 4:05PM

TeamMoneylinePoint SpreadTotal (Over/Under)
Las Vegas Raiders+250+6.5 (-105)O43.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Chargers-310-6.5 (-115)U43.5 (-110)

Omarion Hampton had a disappointing debut in Week 1, which included both a touchdown and a fumble. He and the Chargers are going to be looking to bounce back after their shock loss last week, and Hampton and the run game are going to be a big part of that.

The Raiders run defence wasn’t really tested last week against Miami, so Hampton will be their first big challenge. He played nearly 60 percent of the snaps last week and out-touched backup Keaton Mitchell 12-4.

Best Bet: Omarion Hampton 60+ Rushing Yards (-130)

Seattle Seahawks (1-0) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-0) - 4:25PM

TeamMoneylinePoint SpreadTotal (Over/Under)
Seattle Seahawks-205-3.5 (-120)O40.5 (-110)
Arizona Cardinals+170+3.5 (+100)U40.5 (-110)

We don’t usually like to go above -200 odds, but this matchup is just too tough to call right now. The Seahawks will be trotting Drew Lock out as their starting QB with Sam Darnold out, and the Cardinals looked about as good as you can look in Week 1. But still.

Will the Seahawks’ suffocating defence win the day or will Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals prove their potency again? We’re not sure, but we think in the end the reigning champions will be able to pull off the win against the surprising Cards.

Best Bet: Seattle Seahawks Moneyline (-205)

Miami Dolphins (0-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-0) - 4:25PM

TeamMoneylinePoint SpreadTotal (Over/Under)
Miami Dolphins+650+13.5 (-115)O45.5 (-105)
San Francisco 49ers-1,000-13.5 (-105)U45.5 (-115)

We took this prop for Christian McCaffrey in the Australia game, and he fell short with just 88. That had a lot to do with a surprising split in workload with rookie Kaelon Black. CMC was still the more efficient of the two though, and Black has hit the injury report this week with a groin injury.

Kyle Shanahan also said CMC was playing through some cramps down in Australia, which may have also contributed to the lack of touches. Mix all that together in a pot guarded by the porous Dolphins defence, and you’ve got a recipe for a big game for CMC.

Best Bet: Christian McCaffrey 100+ Scrimmage Yards (-150)

Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys - 4:25PM

TeamMoneylinePoint SpreadTotal (Over/Under)
Washington Commanders+175+4.5 (-115)O50.5 (-110)
Dallas Cowboys-210-4.5 (-105)U50.5 (-110)

Do we dare bet against the Commanders again after they betrayed us with a backdoor cover last week to ruin our Eagles spread ticket? We do. The Commanders may have nearly completed a comeback against the uninspiring Eagles, but they didn’t look great themselves either.

The Cowboys defence also looked terrible, giving up nearly 400 yards to Jaxson Dart and the Giants. Their offence was uncharacteristically wasteful, however, and we expect a big bounce back from them here in their home opener. Dak Prescott is 47-21-1 at home in his career, and has run up a wild 13-2 record against the Commanders, his best against any opponent by far. We’ll take the spread here.

Best Bet: Dallas Cowboys -4.5 Point Spread (-105)
