1. Sign-Up Process
Ready to get started? Here’s a breakdown of the sign-up process with Sports Interaction and 888Sport, letting you know how quick and simple it is to open accounts with both these sites.
Sports Interaction: The Sports Interaction account creation sequence was as easy as it gets. There was only one page that needed to be filled out, and the information required was extremely basic. The only details needed were name, address, email account, age, and phone number, as well as user name and password. Then email verification was needed.
888Sport: 888Sport also had as easy of a sign-up process as one could want, only taking about 1 minute to complete. The details needed are email address, phone number, postal code, birth date, and username and password. The website then took you to a cashier to make a first deposit.
Both websites were extremely easy to sign up for. While Sports Interaction had only one page to put all the information on, and 888Sport had a few click-throughs, the time needed was the same, and the information needed was essentially the same. That is why for this category, I will call it a Draw.
Round 1: Draw 888/Sports Interaction
2. Welcome Bonus
Now that you’re signed up, you can earn your reward through a welcome bonus, which differs based on websites. Here are the key differences between these two brands’ bonuses.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction offers a Welcome Bonus of up to $500 in Free Bets. This bonus is only for the sportsbook. Bettors must place qualifying bets (odds less than or equal to -200 don’t qualify) equal to the amount of their first deposit, or $500, whichever is lower. Once your bets settle, your free bets of up to $500 will hit your account. Free Bet balance is non-withdrawable, but winnings can be withdrawn.
888Sport: 888Sport’s Welcome Bonus is a 100% matched deposit up to $200. This bonus only counts towards the sportsbook and has a 6x rollover. Members depositing using the banking options of Neteller or Skrill aren’t eligible for this promotion.
This one is pretty open and shut. Sports Interaction has a larger bonus amount, with less restrictions. With Sports Interaction, seeing the return on your investment isn’t difficult. While there are minor restrictions that impact the Sports Interaction bonus, the 888Sport bonus has a 6x rollover, making it much harder to see winnings from the bonus money.
Round 2 Winner: Sports Interaction
Welcome Bonuses aren’t the only type of bonus offerings available. Every site offers different promotions that give bettors the chance to win big, here are the varying promotions offered by these two sites.
Sports Interaction: There are a very limited amount of promotions available on Sports Interaction. To see the promotions available, click on the Promo tab. This will show you the total of two promotions available. One is the Welcome Bonus, which is only usable once. The other is a Refer a Friend bonus, where you receive a bonus for every person you refer who makes an initial deposit.
888Sport: 888Sport offers a comprehensive list of promotions that shift and change daily. To scout out what they offer, just click the Promotions tab on the left side of the home page. They offer boosted odds for various events every day, $5 Free Bets if you win a bet with a 5x payout, competitions with potential thousand dollar payouts, and much more. The only downside is that every promotion comes with a laundry list of terms and conditions, so this is something I’d advise every bettor to look at before they engage with the bonus. Terms and conditions can often mitigate the value of what the promotion is offering substantially.
This one isn’t very close. Sports Interaction is a great website, but their promotions offered are sorely lacking. 888Sport wins this category by a substantial margin.
While promotions and bonuses are well and good, what truly sets apart betting sites is the unique features they offer gamblers. Every website is different, and these two are no exception, so here are the features that set them apart.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interactions features are mostly the basics. They offer substantial betting markets with a huge variety of sports, including virtual sports betting. They also have a substantial live betting feature, which we will touch on later. Sports Interaction also has a Racebook feature that allows you to bet on horse and greyhound races around the world.
888Sport: 888Sport is as feature-laden as any betting website I’ve seen. They have a lot of different, creative ways to bet. They have all the basic options like Live Betting and Virtual Sports, and much more. They offer an NBA Fantasy Player of the Night where bettors can pick players who will score the most fantasy points that night, Bet Builders, Daily Competitions, and tons more.
While Sports Interaction has a Racebook tab, 888Sport offers horse race and greyhound betting, so they pretty much have every feature Sports Interaction does, and much more. Because of the sheer amount offered, 888Sport has a significant edge in this category.
5. Sports Coverage
|One of the most important aspects of sports betting sites is the sports and leagues they offer odds for. Here’s a breakdown of the Sports Coverage options these sites provide.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction covers every sport that the conventional bettor would want to bet on. Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Tennis, MMA/Boxing, these sports account for most bets in North America. They cover all the primary leagues in these sports as well. They also offer a ton of niche sports like darts, handball, and snooker.
888Sport: Like Sports Interaction, unless you’re a fan of a very niche sport, chances are you’ll find odds on any game you want to find. Basketball, Baseball, Boxing/MMA, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Soccer, and much more are available on 888Sport. They also have niche sports like Hurling, Badminton, and Australian-Rules Football.
For the average gambler, you’re not likely to find a significant difference between the sports coverage on these websites. While they each offer niche sports the other doesn’t, most bettors likely aren’t gambling on these, so for the typical Canadian sports bettor, I’m going to call this one a Draw.
6. Live Betting
|If you’ve forgotten to place a bet on one of the games covered by these sites, fear not, because live betting allows you to place bets on in-play games. Here’s a breakdown of these sites’ live betting offerings.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction has a comprehensive live betting feature. On their home page, there is a live betting window showing every sport with an event going on that is available to be bet on. There are odds like Live Moneyline and Live Spread available, and by clicking on a game, you can see more odds like Live Props.
888Sport: 888Sport has a live betting feature that is very solid. They show some of the live betting odds on the home page, but if you click their Live Now feature, you can see what other options they have. By clicking on the games you want to bet on, you can see what other live markets are available. They have some lines and some props.
Both websites offer a solid live betting feature that would satisfy the casual bettor. The only key difference is that Sports Interaction offers a decent amount more markets available to live bet on within a specific game, with more lines and props. Because of that, Sports Interaction gets a slight edge.
7. Live Streaming
|If you’re live betting, you might want to watch the games you’re betting on. Since not all games are available on cable, some betting sites have Live Streaming services that allow you to watch games as they’re happening. Here’s a head-to-head of how these sites stack up.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction does offer Live Streaming on a select few events. They allow bettors who are eligible in that they’ve deposited and betted with their site to watch select live MLB baseball events.
888Sport: While 888Sport does offer Live Streaming in the U.K, I couldn’t find any way to access this service. Their site claimed to offer it, but when I searched, there didn’t appear to be any evidence of a live streaming option for Canadian bettors.
This one is pretty open and shut. I could find a way to watch live sports on Sports Interaction, and it was quite simple, and I couldn’t with 888Sport. Sports Interaction wins this round.
8. Mobile Compatibility
|Being able to access your favourite betting sites on the go is essential, so we’ll be offering a head-to-head on the mobile opportunities these two sites provide.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction doesn’t have an app available on the Canadian app stores for Android or iPhones. They do have a mobile-compatible website, however, which allows you to use this site on your phone effectively.
888Sport: 888Sport has a great mobile app available on Android and iOS app stores in Canada. It provides the enjoyable gambling experience of the website on a mobile platform.
Personally, having the app available for download is much preferable to using my phone browser for mobile betting, as I just find the experience to be more customized and immersive. For that reason, 888Sport gets the edge, as they have a real app while Sports Interaction does not.
You can’t make bets without putting some money into your account, so if you want to use these sites you’re going to have to bank with them. Here’s a rundown of what to expect with each of these sites’ banking processes.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction offers 9 different methods for Canadian bettors to choose from to deposit their money, from the basics like Visa/Mastercard and Interac, to more niche options like ecoPayz and MuchBetter. There are different minimum and maximum deposits for each method, and some methods provide a bonus of 10% for using them to deposit. For withdrawals, there is a multitude of different options as well. Typically, it will take around 72 hours for a withdrawal to reach your selected account.
888Sport: 8888Sport offers 11 different deposit options for Canadian bettors to use to fill their accounts. These include things like Visa/Mastercard, as well as WebMoney and Rapid Transfer. There are different minimum and maximum deposits for every option, so before depositing, look into your chosen methods requirements. With withdrawals, there are also many options. Some of the options for depositing you can’t withdraw with, and we’ve attached a photo of different payment methods you can’t withdraw with. Typically it will also take around 72 hours for the withdrawal to reach your account.
The difference between the two is minimal, as they both offer a lot of banking options. However, 888Sport offers slightly more. While this won’t make a difference to most people, it’s enough to give 888Sport a very slight edge in this section.
10. Customer Support
If ever you run into trouble on a betting site and need assistance, a good customer support set-up is extremely valuable to solving your problems. Here’s a look at how these two sites stack up in this department.
Sports Interaction: Sports Interaction has a Help Center that has the answer to many different questions gamblers might be facing, whether it’s related to banking or more. You can also submit a request, where you input your email then ask any question/request you might have. They say their goal is to respond to these inquiries within 4 hours. Most importantly, they have a 24/7 toll-free contact number where they answer all questions and help users experiencing problems.
888Sport: 888Sport has a comprehensive FAQ page that will answer most questions users might be struggling with. They also have a Contact Us page where you can put in your email and question, and they will respond in an undisclosed amount of time. They also have a toll-free member support line that operates from 6 am-2 pm EST for members of the website.
When I have an issue with my betting sites, I want to call the company and discuss it. The most important aspect of customer support to me personally is a phone line. While both sites have phone lines, 888Sport’s is on GMT, which makes the hours inconvenient for Canadian bettors, while Sports Interaction’s is 24/7. Sports Interaction takes this round home.
11. User Experience
|It’s all about the user, so this category will break down how the experience is for users based on website layout, and overall ease/joy of the experience.
Sports Interaction: Easy layout to grasp. Has all the sports offerings on a left-hand toolbar, as well as a live betting tab immediately visible, and a popular tab easily visible. A brightly coloured page that really pops, and the graphics are all intuitive. Live betting encompasses most of the home page, which could be reduced.
888Sport: The home page has a simple layout. The sports are shown at the top in a bar that can be scrolled to show more. Live betting is displayed below, and below that, are different promotions that are being offered that day. The website’s colours are mostly muted, going with a black and white page. A lot of information at the bottom of the Home page, like payment options, FAQs, and more.
This is a strength for both websites. I like how 888Sports has a Promotions bar on their homepage, however, I’m still giving this category to Sports Interaction, but just barely. Sports Interaction’s website is very visually appealing, and slightly more organized than 888Sport’s. The colours and pictures just pop more, and the website feels easier to navigate because of it.
Round 11 Winner: Sports Interaction
The Final Verdict
These two sites are extremely evenly matched in my opinion, both having a lot to offer users. They are two of the top betting sites for Canadians, and you can’t go wrong with either one. However, this is a competition and there has to be a winner. For that reason, I’m going to go with 888Sport as the best of the two.
888Sport simply has more fun features, which is a gambler is something I look for. They have numerous promotions on offer, and they also have a real app, which Sports Interaction doesn’t.
I think Sports Interaction’s website is easier on the eyes and simpler to use and their customer service is slightly better, but the expansive nature of 888Sports gives it an edge in my opinion. Features and promotions are two things I really seek out, and 888Sport had more to offer in those areas.
At the end of the day, it depends on what you’re looking for in a site. If you want something simpler with a cleaner layout, Sports Interaction might be for you. If you want more betting options with some fun twists, 888Sport is a great bet.
These two sites aren’t the only two options out there. Canada is ripe with betting options, including big names like Bodog and Betway, so check out some reviews and see which websites work best for you.
