The Minnesota Timberwolves fought tooth and nail in every game of their six-game first round series against their nemesis in the Denver Nuggets. But now that they’ve emerged, things look a lot more bleak for Round 2 against the No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs.
Unfortunately, Anthony Edwards, Minnesota’s superstar leader is likely to miss at least the first few games of this series, and with other injuries in the Wolves’ back court, they could be in tough against a Spurs team with the best guard trio in the league. Read on for the NBA betting odds and our best bets on all the most popular futures betting markets for this Western Conference semifinal series.
Highlights
- Anthony Edwards is week-to-week; he is listed as questionable for Game 1

Timberwolves vs. Spurs “Series Result” Futures Betting Markets
| Team | To Win Series | Series Spread | Series Total Games |
| Minnesota Timberwolves | +900 | +3.5 (-160) | Over 4.5 (-160) |
| San Antonio Spurs | -1,600 | -3.5 (+135) | Under 4.5 (+135) |
With Anthony Edwards, this would have been a very tough ask for the Timberwolves. Without him, or Donte DiVincenzo, and Ayo Dosunmu also working through an injury, it feels like an impossible feat. The Spurs have a dominant guard trio with De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper. With all of those injuries in the Minnesota back court, what was already going to be an advantage for San Antonio is going to be an even bigger problem for the Wolves. Whether you take the Spurs series spread or the under on this series to go 4.5 games, you’re getting solid +135 odds.
Best Bet: San Antonio Spurs Series -3.5 Spread (+135)
Timberwolves vs. Spurs “Series Correct Score” Futures Betting Market
| Score | Minnesota Timberwolves to Win | San Antonio Spurs to Win |
| 4-0 | +20,000 | +132 |
| 4-1 | +6,500 | +185 |
| 4-2 | +3,300 | +475 |
| 4-3 | +1,800 | +950 |
You don’t often see a sweep offering the shortest odds on the board for this future, but that’s how important Anthony Edwards’ absence is. It also speaks to how good Victor Wembanyama is. Rudy Gobert just did a bang up job slowing Nikola Jokic last round. But Gobert’s French countryman is nearly a half foot taller than the Big Cevapi, and a lot more athletic. We don’t think Edwards will return in time to save hope here.
Best Bet: San Antonio Spurs to Win 4-0 (+132)
Timberwolves vs. Spurs “Most X In Series” Futures Betting Market
| Player | Most Points | Most Assists | Most Rebounds | Most Threes | Most Steals |
| Victor Wembanyama (SAS) | -400 | +8,000 | -150 | +155 | +425 |

| De’Aaron Fox (SAS) | +1,800 | +260 | N/A | +1,000 | +320 |
| Ayo Dosunmu (MIN) | +2,200 | +1,600 | +20,000 | +700 | +750 |
| Jaden McDaniels (MIN) | +2,500 | +12,500 | +8,000 | N/A | +650 |
| Stephon Castle (SAS) | +2,500 | -225 | +8,000 | +5,000 | +475 |

| Naz Reid (MIN) | N/A | N/A | +8,000 | +1,200 | +2,500 |
| Luke Kornet (SAS) | N/A | N/A | +10,000 | N/A | +10,000 |
| Julian Champagnie (SAS) | N/A | N/A | +20,000 | +700 | +900 |
| Devin Vassell (SAS) | N/A | N/A | N/A | +250 | +650 |
| Keldon Johnson (SAS) | N/A | N/A | N/A | N/A | +4,000 |
Rudy Gobert was vacuuming up rebounds all series against the Nuggets because Denver plays at a fast pace, which leads to more shots and more rebounds. That will also be the case against these Spurs, who scored the third-most points per game (119.8) in the regular season.
In eight career games against Wemby, Gobert has managed to out-rebound him overall, including in five of those games. The original Stifle Tower is offering better odds at +120, and with this basically being a toss up, we’re going with the value here.
Most of Minnesota’s top three-point shooters are either out or fighting through injuries. So we like a Spurs player to top that category. At +250, we love Devin Vassell here. He was just 8-for-28 from deep last round, but those 28 attempts were most on the team. He also led San Antonio with 2.5 triples per game on 6.4 attempts and a 38 percent shooting percentage during the regular season.
Best Bet:
- Rudy Gobert Most Rebounds (+120)
- Devin Vassell Most Three-Pointers Made (+250)
