Day 5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup features another four matches, and there's no shortage of intrigue.

Favorites Spain lock horns with debutants Cape Verde to start the action, followed by an afternoon clash between Belgium and Egypt. Saudi Arabia then faces Uruguay before Iran and New Zealand go to battle.

Below, we'll dive into our best daily World Cup 2026 betting tips

Top Picks for World Cup Day 5 | June 15

Spain vs Cape Verde

Spain Over 2.5 Goals (-182)

Spain heads into their World Cup opener with lofty expectations. Many believe this is the most complete side in this tournament, and they have a real shot of going all the way. La Roja is set to face a Cape Verde team that has never appeared in the World Cup, and frankly, I expect Spain to completely dominate the African nation. Even though Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal may not start as they work back from injuries, Spain's sheer talent in all areas will overwhelm Cape Verde, and this should be a blowout for the 2024 EURO winners. Mikel Oyarzabal is one to watch in the final third for the Spaniards, scoring 12 times in his last 12 appearances for his country.

🗸 Long Shot: Spain by 3+ Goals (-137)
🗸 Extra Tip: Mikel Oyarzabal Anytime Goal (-185)

Belgium vs Egypt

Belgium vs Egypt to Draw (+300)

Belgium unfortunately failed to capitalize on their golden generation, which has already come and gone. Qatar 2022 was their final chance to make the most of such a talented group, but they couldn't advance past group play. While the Belgians are still a quality side, they've rarely put it all together in major tournaments. Romelu Lukaku barely played this season, and Kevin De Bruyne had a mixed first year with Napoli. Egypt is sweating over the fitness of Mo Salah, but there are others around him like Omar Marmoush and Trezeguet who could cause some issues for Belgium. Egypt beat the Red Devils in 2022, but I expect a cagey affair in Seattle that will end level, with both teams ultimately finding the back of the net. Jeremy Doku is certainly one to watch for Belgium, and his creativity out wide should play a factor in the Red Devils securing a point.

🗸 Long Shot: Jeremy Doku to Score or Assist (+125)
🗸 Extra Tip: Both Teams to Score (+100)

Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay

Uruguay to Win by 1 Goal (+225)

Uruguay have been a regular on the World Cup stage for decades, and they even reached the semifinals as recently as 2010. While they no longer have the likes of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani leading the line, this is still a great group of players at Marcelo Bielsa's disposal. The South American standouts are led by midfield mainstay Federico Valverde, while Darwin Nunez, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Manuel Ugarte are all dangerous players as well. Saudi Arabia is no pushover, having featured in the World Cup many, many times over the past 30 years, but they do not have the same quality in key areas, with Uruguay's European experience in the squad more impressive. Expect the Saudis to put together a solid defensive performance, but Uruguay will find that one moment of brilliance and take away a crucial three points on matchday one.

🗸 Long Shot: Darwin Nunez Anytime Goal (+110)
🗸 Extra Tip: Uruguay to Keep a Clean Sheet (-125)

IR Iran vs New Zealand

Iran moneyline (-115)

Although Iran has never progressed out of the group stages in the World Cup, they're always in the global tournament. Their experience on this stage is evident, and they head into Monday's clash in good form, winning three straight matches. New Zealand, on the other hand, has struggled over the last year, notching just two wins in 11 games while losing nine times. They will be relying on Chris Wood to hopefully create some havoc up top, but that won't be easy against a strong Iranian backline. Expect Iran talisman Mehdi Taremi to be a focal point in Los Angeles, playing the difference-maker as his side secures a massive three points over a New Zealand team in poor shape at the moment.

🗸 Long Shot: Chris Wood Over 1.5 SOG (+300)
🗸 Extra Tip: Mehdi Taremi Anytime Goal (+185)
