Top Picks for World Cup Day 7 | June 17

Portugal vs DR Congo

Portugal to Win Nil (-111)

Portugal heads into the World Cup as one of the giants who could make a serious run at the ultimate prize. Ronaldo isn't the focal point anymore, but this is an extremely solid squad across the board. Their midfield of Vitinha and Joao Neves just led PSG to Champions League glory, and Bruno Fernandes is coming off an electrifying campaign with Manchester United. Selecao's quality is clear, and DR Congo miraculously made it to the World Cup through the intercontinental play-off. Portugal has won three straight games, and they've kept a clean sheet in two of their last four. Expect Fernandes to play his part in the Selecao's victory, while Ronaldo should also manage to create opportunities in the final third as he's expected to lead the line.

🗸 Long Shot: Cristiano Ronaldo Over 1.5 SOG by Foot (-123)
🗸 Extra Tip: Bruno Fernandes to Score or Assist (-143)

England vs Croatia

England vs Croatia to Draw (+275)

These two sides are extremely familiar with each other, and I'm expecting a cagey affair in Texas. While England had a stellar qualifying phase, they've struggled at times leading up to the World Cup, losing to Japan in March and barely beating New Zealand in a friendly earlier this month. While the Three Lions have won the last two meetings with Croatia, the Checkered Ones can never be counted out on this stage, making deep runs in the last two tournaments. England's attacking talent is clear, led by Kane, while the likes of Anthony Gordon, Jude Bellingham, and Marcus Rashford are all capable. Croatia's midfield duo of Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic remains elite, and Ivan Perisic and Andrej Kramaric are capable of breaking down England's backline. Both teams will find the net here, but we'll see this one end level.

🗸 Long Shot: Harry Kane Anytime Goal (+130)
🗸 Extra Tip: Both Teams to Score (+110)

Ghana vs Panama

Ghana vs Panama to Draw (+260)

The Black Stars are back in the World Cup, but their form heading into Wednesday's game in Toronto is very concerning. Ghana is in the midst of a seven-game winless run, losing six of those matches. Panama's defensive solidity is impressive, and they should be able to keep this one competitive, especially given Ghana's struggles. Panama drew with Bosnia in their final friendly before the tournament, and they also beat South Africa in March. The Black Stars' attacking options are very dangerous -- most notably Antoine Semenyo -- but Panama should limit the damage, and play well enough to secure a point in Canada. Semenyo is coming off a career-best season, and he'll be a dangerous figure up top here. Ghana also hasn't kept a clean sheet in their last six outings.

🗸 Long Shot: Both Teams to Score (-105)
🗸 Extra Tip: Antoine Semenyo Anytime Goal (+190)

Uzbekistan vs Colombia

Colombia to Win Nil (-105)

Colombia is always a team to watch out for in South America, and I expect them to cruise past Uzbekistan. The Colombians enter matchday one off the back of friendly wins over Jordan and Costa Rica. Fabio Cannavaro will surely have his side focusing on laying deep and preventing goals, but Colombia's attack is far too impressive for me to overlook. Luis Diaz is an electrifying figure out wide, and he always turns up for his country. Luis Suarez just had a great season with Sporting, while Jhon Arias is clinical as well. Uzbekistan has been held scoreless in two of their last three games, and Colombia has conceded just once in their previous two fixtures.

🗸 Long Shot: Luis Suarez Over 1.5 SOG by Foot (-123)
🗸 Extra Tip: Luis Diaz Anytime Goal (+110)
