Matchday two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup officially begins on June 18th, with four enticing fixtures on the schedule.ย

Czechia will be looking to bounce back from a defeat as they lock horns with South Africa, who also lost their opening game. Switzerland and Bosnia-Herzegovina then meet in Group B action, followed by Canada vs Qatar in Vancouver. To finish off the night, co-hosts Mexico face South Korea.ย

Below, we'll dive into our daily World Cup 2026 betting tips.ย

Top Picks for World Cup Day 8 | June 18

Czechia vs South Africa

Czechia to Win Nil (+171)

Czechia will be motivated for three points here after a disappointing outcome in Guadalajara last week. After taking an early lead against South Korea, the Czechs conceded twice. This fixture will undoubtedly be a lot easier. South Africa looked very poor in the opening match of the World Cup, losing by two goals to Mexico. The 2010 hosts made numerous mistakes, had a sloppy first touch, and frankly, should've lost by much more if Mexico had been able to finish their opportunities. Czechia is simply a better side, and South Africa posed zero threat in the final third in Mexico City. Miroslav Koubek's men will earn a convincing victory here and keep a clean sheet, and Patrik Schick will get in on the action up top.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Patrik Schick Anytime Goal (+140)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Czechia Clean Sheet (+120)

Switzerland vs Bosnia-Herzegovina

Switzerland to Win Nil (+128)

Switzerland wasn't pleased with their matchday one draw against Qatar, a game they should've easily won. Breel Embolo opened the scoring with a goal from the penalty spot, but the Swiss conceded in the dying seconds of injury time to settle for a draw. They controlled 68% of the ball, and I expect them to play a possession-heavy match against Bosnia. While the Balkan outfit have been solid defensively in recent memory, the Swiss possess real quality up top, led by Embolo, and I believe they will find their breakthrough. Bosnia showed little attacking prowess against Canada last Friday, and scoring goals has been an issue for them overall. With a tough clash on matchday three in Vancouver against the hosts, Switzerland will be aware of the importance of securing three points here.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Switzerland Over 1.5 Goals (-125)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Breel Embolo Anytime Goal (+125)

Canada vs Qatar

Canada to Win by 1 Goal (+260)

The co-hosts will be searching for their first-ever World Cup victory on Thursday when they face Qatar on home soil in Vancouver. Canada beat the 2022 hosts in a friendly shortly before the World Cup by two goals, but I expect Qatar to put up quite the fight. They were resilient against Switzerland, and this one should be a close game as well. However, Canada did show a lot of promise in the final third versus Bosnia, and it's only a matter of time until Jonathan David finds his breakthrough after missing a sitter last week. The Juventus man will be the difference-maker, and Canada's backline will hold their own as well.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Jonathan David Anytime Goal (+100)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Canada to Keep a Clean Sheet (-152)

Mexico vs South Korea

Mexico vs South Korea to Draw (+233)

This will likely be the best game in Group A between two teams expected to compete for top spot. Mexico secured a convincing victory at the Estadio Azteca last Thursday, but frankly, they weren't at their best. South Africa was just poor. That being said, El Tri are in the midst of a 16-match unbeaten run, and the home atmosphere in Guadalajara is a huge advantage. South Korea is also in good form, and they looked impressive on the attack against Czechia. Both sides are fundamentally sound on both ends of the pitch, and quite even overall. Their last meeting in late 2025 also ended 2-2. We'll see another draw. Heung-Min Son could find his breakthrough, while Julian Quinones is one to watch for Mexico after a terrific display in Mexico City as the heartbeat of the attack.ย

๐Ÿ—ธ Long Shot: Heung-Min Son Anytime Goal (+260)
๐Ÿ—ธ Extra Tip: Julian Quinones Anytime Goal (+240)
