And the main one, obviously, concerns who will win the NBA title next season. The Favorites: San Antonio Spurs & OKC Thunder (+250)

It’s surprising not to see the 2026 champion New York Knicks closer to the top of this leaderboard. Heck, they’re not even the top team in the East, sitting behind the Boston Celtics, who are third on the board. Tied atop of it are the 2026 Western Conference finalists: the 2025 champs and the 2026 runners-up.

The San Antonio Spurs and OKC Thunder are the two most obvious choices. They arguably have both the most talent and the most depth in the NBA, and they’re both very young and only likely to improve from here. The Spurs really threw that NBA Finals away to the Knicks with some bone-headed plays and sequences. They didn’t learn from those mistakes during the series, but you can bet they will during the offseason.

The Thunder could end up with three first-round picks for the 2027 NBA Draft. That means they could line up a blockbuster trade to go again and make their team even more seemingly invincible, or they could draft some top youth to extend their winning window even further.

These would be our two top choices in this market, but considering we’re looking at these odds about four months before the start of the 2026-2027 campaign, +250 odds just don’t offer enough value.

Our Best Bet: Denver Nuggets (+2,500)

If you look beyond the top four on the odds board, you start getting into some massive odds for some pretty quality teams. Of those, we think the Denver Nuggets at +2,500 offer the best combination of both value and a real chance to bounce back after a subpar season for most everyone on that roster. They know they need to get more depth, and Jamal Murray knows he has to pull up his socks if he’s going to remain Nikola Jokic’s trusty sidekick.

Dark Horse Candidate: Houston Rockets (+5,000)

Way down the board we have the Houston Rockets, who went out with a whimper in the first round to a Luka Doncic-less Lakers team. But man, is their team talented. They have a great nucleus of young talent, and if Kevin Durant can stay healthy, I’d bet on them to find their chemistry and become a really scary proposition down the stretch. But again, it all depends on the Slim Reaper’s health.
