We just took a look at these odds in early July after most of the major moves were made in NBA free agency. But there was one we were waiting on: LeBron James. The King finally got up off his throne to decide to take his talents to… the City of Brotherly Love.
With LeBron James signing that two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers last week, it vaulted them from playoff team, to legitimate title contender. With that in mind, let’s see how the betting odds on the 2027 NBA Champion future betting market have shifted after that big move.
Does LeBron still have enough juice to significantly change the odds? Read on for the latest NBA betting odds and our breakdown of the odds movement!

Philadelphia 76ers Odds Halved Down to +900
Of our top 17 above, only four teams saw their odds move. None improved apart from those of the 76ers. Their odds have dropped from +5,000 in June, down to +2,000 after acquiring Jaylen Brown, and now down to +900 following the addition of LeBron James.
With Joel Embiid, James, Brown, and young guards Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, this has to be the best starting five on paper in the league at this point. Whether the health of Embiid and James will hold up is another question.
But thankfully, the 76ers have those young guys and Brown to pick up the slack. Not to mention Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (elite perimeter defender), Anfernee Simons (excellent scorer), and rookie Labaron Philon Jr.
With the Spurs and Thunder offering just +260 odds and our belief that there is no chance the Knicks repeat, this is probably the best value on the board among the real title contenders next season. After the Knicks broke their 53-year championship drought, the rival 76ers could be following right behind them by snapping their own 43-year streak of sadness.
Golden State Warriors Plummet to +6,000
On the other side of the coin, a few teams saw their odds rise after missing out on LeBron. The Heat, who were probably the next option for the King, jumped from +2,800 to +3,000. But the real losers were the aging Warriors.
In June, Golden State’s odds sat at +5,000 (much like Philly’s), but in July, just based on the fact that sportsbooks had them as the favourites to land LeBron, their odds dropped down to +3,500. Pity to anyone who put money down on those: after missing out on the 41-year-old, their odds are now up to +6,000.
