There are tons of trade rumors swirling around with the new league year starting this week on March 11. Heck, some trades have already been reliably reported, though they are still not official.

Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown is one of the names being floated around the most. So much so, in fact, that Canadian sportsbooks are putting out betting odds on where A.J. Brown will play in 2026. Officially, the futures betting market is on which team Brown will be playing for when Week 1 comes around on September 10.

The Eagles are still the favorites to retain their disgruntled wideout, but there is one other team that has nearly identical odds to end up with Brown. Will it be one of the top two, or can a team come out of left field to steal the A.J. Brown sweepstakes for themselves.

Highlights

  • The Eagles are the favorites to retain Brown, with +150 odds
  • New England is the only one even close when it comes to odds, coming in at +175 odds
  • The Chiefs would be an intriguing landing spot if they don’t get Tyreek Hill

The Favorite: Philadelphia Eagles (+150)

Obviously, A.J. Brown is not a free agent and he has not formally requested a trade. So the team he’s currently signed to, the Eagles, are still a strong contender to keep Brown in town for at least one more season. His contract has a potential out for the team after the 2026 campaign.

And apart from DeVonta Smith, it’s also not like Philly’s receiving corps is overly talented behind Brown. He’s caused issues in the media, but Brown’s talent has never been in question, and the Eagles could simply decide they need it. However, indications from Brown make us think he could be gone sooner than later.

Our Best Bet: New England Patriots (+175)

The only other team with odds under +650 are the Patriots. And they just so happened to have recently released their own veteran star wideout, Stefon Diggs. One disgruntled wideout for another, why not? But Brown is much younger than Diggs and still playing at a Pro Bowl level. And wide receiver was no doubt one of the major weaknesses of the Patriots last year.

Brown has also indicated that New England could be a place he wants to be. Drake Maye’s excellent long ball would mesh well with Brown’s skill set. And on a podcast appearance earlier this offseason, Brown hinted to Patriots greats Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski that he might become a Patriot soon. If the Patriots find other ways to fix the OL issue, a Brown trade feels more than likely at this point.

Dark Horse Candidate: Kansas City Chiefs (+3,300)

If somehow the Eagles and Patriots both end up whiffing on Brown, there’s another interesting option: the Chiefs. We wrote a couple of weeks ago about how Tyreek Hill is likely going to land back in K.C.

But if he doesn’t, the Chiefs will still be on the lookout for a WR1 with Marquise Brown a free agent, Rashee Rice a nut case, and Xavier Worthy still developing. They can’t waste another year of Patrick Mahomes’ prime, and a wideout like Brown would certainly help avoid that.
