Aston Villa sits as a slim +119 favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Spurs return at +225 odds. A draw is priced at +260.
Villa have dominated Tottenham in recent memory. They’ve won seven of the last nine meetings across all competitions, including four straight victories dating back to February of 2025.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Analysis
While there’s been some inconsistent spells at times, Villa has overall had a nice campaign. They’re currently in the semifinals of the Europa League, and very much in the running to play Champions League football next term. The Lions are sitting tied for fourth with Liverpool on 58 points, compiling a 17-7-10 record. Unai Emery’s side is also just three points behind third-place Manchester United, who lock horns with Liverpool this weekend. Depending on the result there and how Villa fares, the top four could look a whole lot different by the end of Sunday.
However, Lions did lose to Forest in the first leg of the Europa semis by a goal on Thursday, and that was their second defeat in a row after losing to Fulham in the Premier League last weekend. That’s now two matches without a goal for Villa, who are usually quite clinical. They will be up against a Spurs side that concedes a lot, and it’s a clear opportunity to find their attacking flair again.
Tottenham’s 2025-26 season has truly been a disaster. Sure, injuries have undoubtedly played their part, but there is no good reason that a club of this stature should be in the relegation zone. They’ve gone through numerous coaches, and Roberto De Zerbi has a real task ahead of him over the next few weeks. Spurs are 18th with 36 points, and a victory here could move them into safety, since West Ham has 38 points and has already played this weekend.
But, as you can see, the club has struggled immensely to find positive results against Villa. Their last win in the Premier League versus the Lions was in November of 2024, and the side looked much different back then. On a more positive note, Spurs are unbeaten across their last two games, and they did beat Wolves 1-0 last weekend.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Injury News
Spurs are dealing with a lengthy injury list, headlined by Xavi Simons’ season-ending ACL tear and Dominic Solanke’s hamstring issue, which could also sideline him long-term. Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero, and Guglielmo Vicario remain out, though Destiny Udogie could return.
Villa will be without Amadou Onana due to a calf injury, adding to his recent knee issue, while Boubacar Kamara is the only other confirmed absentee. Unai Emery may rotate slightly with Europa League priorities in mind.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Picks
Villa aren’t playing their best brand of football right now, but their track record against Spurs is hard to ignore, and being at home is always beneficial. The Lions have an 11-2-4 record at Villa Park this term. They will prevail with three points.
