Indiana vs Ohio State Odds

Ohio State is a -200 favorite in the Big Ten Championship at online betting sportsbooks. They’re also laying four points on the spread. Indiana returns as a +165 underdog. The total is set at 47.5 points.

These two haven’t met since last season, when the Buckeyes won 38-15. In fact, they’ve never lost to the Hoosiers, but Indiana is a very different program these days.

Indiana vs Ohio State Analysis

The Hoosiers made the CFP last season and while they failed to make it far in the expanded tournament, Indiana did a tremendous job of replacing their quarterback, Kurtis Rourke. The program managed to lure in Fernando Mendoza, who has emerged as a game-changer and a Heisman Trophy candidate. The former Cal signal-caller led the Hoosiers to a perfect 12-0 record in 2025, and they spent most of the year ranked No. 2 behind Saturday’s opponent, Ohio State.

Indiana was absolutely dominant on both sides of the ball. They rank second in the country in points (44.3), fifth in total yards, and first in third down conversion rate percentage. Defensively, the Hoosiers have allowed a mere 10.9 PPG, which is second in the nation. They’re also fourth in fewest total yards allowed. Indiana blew out basically every opponent this season other than Oregon, Penn State, and Iowa. But, there’s no doubt that the Buckeyes are their toughest task yet, and it’s a great test for them ahead of the CFP.

It’s difficult to go out and win a National Championship, lose a lot of your team to the NFL, then proceed to have another terrific campaign. That’s exactly what Ohio State has done under Ryan Day, who managed to keep his recruiting class strong ahead of 2025. The Buckeyes are a favorite to win it all again, and it’s not surprising why. OSU was also 12-0 this season and while their offense doesn’t rank quite where Indiana’s does, you cannot ignore the talent within this corps.

QB Julian Sayin was absolutely electrifying this year, completing 78.9% of his passes for 3,065 yards and 30 touchdowns against five interceptions. Sayin is arguably the most accurate thrower in the country, and it’s coming down to him and Mendoza for the Heisman. We also can’t forget his top weapon in Jeremiah Smith, who looks to be a generational talent at the wide receiver position. Defensively, the Buckeyes are as solid as can be, ranking first in three major categories. They’ve allowed just 7.8 PPG this season. Mind-boggling.

Indiana vs Ohio State Picks

The Ohio State defense will have it’s work cut out for them on Saturday. Indiana is a top team for a reason, and they can compete with the best of them. However, the Buckeyes are seemingly on a different level, and I do think they will be able to win this one.
