PSG vs Inter Milan Analysis
Perhaps Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi aren’t around anymore but PSG is honestly looking better than ever. This club just had a phenomenal campaign, winning Ligue 1 with ease and only losing twice along the way. Ousmane Dembele headlines an electrifying attack for Luis Enrique, with the Frenchman bagging over 30 goals across all competitions. The likes of Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, and Goncalo Ramos, among others, are all key players in the final third. Enrique has no shortage of options.
When it comes to the UCL, Paris had to fight through the playoff after finishing outside of the top eight in the group stages, but they’ve been flying ever since. The French giants took down league counterparts Brest before also shocking Liverpool in the Round of 16. PSG then got past Aston Villa in a tough two-legged tie. Their attack proved to be too much for Arsenal as well, winning 3-1 on aggregate. Paris just won the French Cup last weekend too and will be looking to compete the treble on Saturday.
Inter also had an impressive season and although they fell just short of winning Serie A, Saturday presents a clear opportunity to win Europe’s most prized competition. Simone Inzaghi’s men finished as runners-up in Italy with a 24-9-5 record and just one point behind Napoli, who secured the title on the final matchday last weekend. The Nerazzurri were solid in the group stages of the Champions League, finishing with a 6-1-1 record in the group stages.
They also had to take down some giants along the way. While Feyenoord was a breeze in the Round of 16, Inter managed to eliminate Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals before a 7-6 two-legged tie win against Barcelona which had all football fans on the edge of their seats. The Italians are a much more experienced side compared to PSG with an average age of 30. The French outfit averages around 24 years old.
PSG vs Inter Milan Injury News
Enrique will be buzzing for Saturday’s showpiece because he has essentially zero injury problems. Presnel Kimpembe remains sidelined, but he’s barely played at all this season. As for Inter, they’re also healthy. Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielenski were dealing with minor knocks but they’re back in training ahead of the UCL final.
PSG vs Inter Milan Picks
This will be a very interesting final. Inter play a more slow-paced game, while PSG like to attack from the flanks and take advantage of their pace up top. But, I do like the Italians’ experience and the Nerazzurri have proven they can beat anybody. I’ll take Inter to win.
