Oregon vs USC Odds

The Ducks are a heavy -375 home favorite, and they’re also laying 9.5 points on the spread at online betting sites. The Trojans return at +300 odds. The total is set at 59.5 points.

These two haven’t met since the 2023 season, but Oregon has won three in a row against USC. That victory two years ago was in Eugene, winning 36-27.

Oregon vs USC Analysis

The Ducks’ transition to the Big Ten has been seamless. They’re sitting at 6-1 in conference play, and 9-1 overall. The majority of Oregon’s wins have been extremely convincing, and their only loss came to a national championship contender, the Indiana Hoosiers. Dan Lanning’s team is elite on both sides of the ball, and it’s no surprise they’re expected to be in the expanded College Football Playoff. That’s, of course, if they keep winning.

Oregon is 11th in total yards and seventh in points, scoring 39 points per game. The Ducks are led by quarterback Dante Moore, who has completed 72.8% of his passes for 2,190 yards and 21 touchdowns against five interceptions. He has lots of weapons at his disposal, but it’s the running back room that really stands out. Noah Whittington is averaging 8.2 yards per carry, while Jordan Davison is also rushing for seven yards per carry. Defensively, Oregon is allowing 13.7 points per contest (sixth in the country) and 235.4 total yards, which ranks third in the NCAA. This team is the real deal, and they’re 5-1 at home.

The Trojans head into Week 13 with one thing in mind – win and keep their CFP aspirations alive, for the time being. USC has already lost twice, so another loss would essentially put a College Football Playoff berth to bed. The Trojans are sitting at 8-2, and since a Week 8 loss to Notre Dame, Lincoln Riley’s squad has won three straight, beating Nebraska, Northwestern, and Iowa. Oregon will be one of their toughest games yet, and the season finale won’t be easy either, with UCLA up next.

USC was trailing by a point heading into the fourth against Iowa last weekend, but a rushing TD from Bryan Jackson proved to be the difference-maker. The Trojans are scoring 38.2 points per contest, which ranks 10th in the country. They’ve scored at least 21 points in each of the last three games, and the offense will need to bring its best on Saturday. Defensively, USC also must keep it sound, as they have in recent weeks. Their season depends on it.

Oregon vs USC Picks

While I mentioned Oregon’s rushing offense as a clear strength, its pass offense has been coming alive, with Moore throwing for 306 yards last weekend. The Ducks are too strong, and I do believe they will take care of USC on home soil.
