A berth in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals is at stake on Saturday, December 20, at Kyle Field in College Station as the Texas A&M Aggies welcome the Miami Hurricanes to town in the first round of the tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET. A&M heads into the CFP as the No. 7 seed, and they will be feeling confident after going a perfect 7-0 this season at home. The Hurricanes are the No. 10 seed, and they finished the regular season with four straight wins.

Texas A&M vs Miami Odds
The Aggies head into this matchup as a -171 moneyline favorite at online betting sportsbooks. They’re also laying three points on the spread. Miami returns at +131 odds. The total is set at 48 points.
They’ve met two times, dating back to the 2022 season, both winning one matchup apiece. The Hurricanes beat A&M 48-33 in 2023 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Texas A&M vs Miami Analysis
The Aggies just had one of their best seasons in years, compiling an 11-1 record and making their first College Football Playoff in program history. QB Marcel Reed was an absolute weapon for Texas A&M in a heavily competitive SEC. The versatile signal-caller completed 61.8% of his passes for 2,932 yards this season for 25 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. He also ran for six TDs and nearly 500 yards. Reed led A&M’s top-20 offense to impressive wins over the likes of LSU, Auburn, and Notre Dame, among others.
Reed will need to be at his best on Saturday against a solid Miami defense, but Texas A&M’s defensive unit also must be sharp against a battle-tested Hurricanes team. The reality is that the Aggies didn’t face many difficult opponents in ‘25, and Miami will be one of their toughest tests. That being said, the atmosphere in College Station will be second to none, and that energy should definitely play in A&M’s favor.
The Hurricanes narrowly missed out on the College Football Playoff last year with Cam Ward under center, but this time around, the committee selected Mario Cristobal’s squad, despite having a carbon copy record as the 2024 season. The Canes went 10-2, and they have a lot of talent at skill positions. Georgia transfer Carson Beck came in and proved to be a difference-maker at quarterback, completing 74.7% of his throws for 3,072 yards and 25 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.
Malachi Toney is his most talented wideout, and he led Miami by a mile with 84 receptions. At running back, Mark Fletcher is a true workhorse, rushing for 10 TDs and averaging nearly five yards per carry. As previously mentioned, the Hurricanes have a very talented pass rush, and lots of future NFLers up and down their roster. While the Kyle Field environment is going to be a positive for Texas A&M, Miami can absolutely win this game if they can slow down Reed and get a valiant performance from Beck.
Texas A&M vs Miami Picks
This spread is very accurate. Saturday’s contest should be a close one, but I do believe College Station is one of the most exhilirating environments in the country. I’ll take Texas A&M to feed off their home fans’ support, and advance to the quarterfinals.
