Texas A&M vs Texas Odds

Texas A&M is a -130 favorite at online betting sportsbooks. Texas returns at +110 odds. The Aggies are also laying 2.5 points on the spread. The total is set at 52.5 points.

The Longhorns have won four of the last five meetings. Last season, they beat the Aggies 17-7 in College Station. However, it was their first meeting since 2011.

Texas A&M vs Texas Analysis

The Aggies haven’t played the most difficult opponents this season, but it’s hard to ignore their impressive 11-0 record. They’re already a lock for the College Football Playoff, and Mike Elko’s squad looks like they could actually be a dangerous team when the CFP does roll around. Their most difficult game in 2025 came against Notre Dame in September, pulling out a 41-40 victory. Texas A&M is led by one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the nation, Marcel Reed.

The youngster has led the Aggies' offense to average 38.1 PPG, which ranks 10th in the country. They’re also 15th in total yards. Reed has completed 61.8% of his passes for 2,752 yards and 25 touchdowns against eight interceptions. He’s also rushed for nearly 400 yards and six TDs. Reed is a weapon, but he’ll be up against a solid Longhorns pass rush on Friday. If they can find a way to slow down the QB, Texas has a chance of keeping its slim CFP dreams alive.

The Longhorns went into the ‘25 campaign as one of the National Championship favorites after getting so close to the Promised Land last season. But it’s been a bit of an inconsistent season for them. While Texas has beaten two top-10 opponents, they’ve struggled to show up on a weekly basis. Steve Sarkisian’s squad is 8-3 overall but just 5-2 in SEC play, losing to Georgia and Florida.

Texas is really up against the wall in the season finale. A third victory against a ranked opponent gives the committee a serious reason to give them a look for the CFP, but a three-loss team simply won’t make the tournament. History is obviously on the Longhorns’ side, and playing at home in Austin is always beneficial. Arch Manning had a nice game in Week 13, throwing for 389 yards and four TDs while completing 18 of 30 passes. He’ll need to be sharp against an elite A&M defense that is the top unit in the country on third-down conversion rate.

Texas A&M vs Texas Picks

Texas is a good team, but the Aggies have proven to be even better this season. They will hold off their rivals and grab their first victory against the Longhorns since 2010.
