The 2025 World Series begins on Friday evening at the Rogers Centre as the Los Angeles Dodgers face the Toronto Blue Jays. LA, of course, won it all last season, while the Jays haven’t captured a title since 1993. The NL champs took down the Milwaukee Brewers in four games in the NLCS, while Toronto needed seven games to beat the Seattle Mariners. Below, find the 2025 World Series picks.

2025 World Series Odds
| Moneyline | Dodgers -223 | Blue Jays +180 |
As you can see, the Dodgers are a heavy -223 World Series favorite at MLB sportsbooks. The Blue Jays return as a heavy +180 underdog.
Los Angeles and Toronto met just three times in the regular season, with the Dodgers winning two of those matchups.
Dodgers vs Blue Jays Analysis
While they didn’t clinch an automatic berth into the NLDS, there was never much doubt that the Dodgers would be back on baseball’s biggest stage. When you have a roster this talented, it’s hard not to be one of the best ball clubs around. Los Angeles swept the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card before beating the Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series. Despite losing all six meetings with the Brewers during the regular season, the Dodgers wiped the floor with the NL’s top seed in the NLCS, pulling out the brooms.
Dave Roberts’ group has swung it very well in the postseason, batting .256. Mookie Betts, Tommy Edman, Will Smith, and Kike Hernandez, among others, are all hitting right around .300. Shohei Ohtani has actually struggled at the dish in the playoffs, but he’s smacked five homers, including three in Game 4 against the Brew Crew. As for pitching, Game 1 starter Blake Snell has led the way, posting a 0.86 ERA. He’s been unhittable. Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Ohtani have been lights out as well. They will have their work cut out for them against a strong Jays lineup.
It’s been a long time coming for Toronto. 32 years later, they find themselves in the World Series again. The Blue Jays are hitting .296 as a lineup in the playoffs, which is a whole 40 points above the Dodgers. They scored an absurd number of runs in the ALDS against the Yankees, and Toronto also flexed their muscle in the ALCS versus Seattle. John Schneider’s team also showed serious guts, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to tie the series at two, winning back-to-back contests at T-Mobile Park.
The clear star in these playoffs for the Jays is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He’s hitting .442 with six round-trippers in the postseason, and the slugger’s brilliance earned him ALCS MVP. Ernie Clement is also batting .429 and continues to show why he’s one of the most underrated players in the show. Virtually everyone in this Toronto lineup has done their part in October. On the bump, Trey Yesavage gets the ball in Game 1. He’s pitched well, and so has the likes of Max Scherzer, Shane Bieber, Kevin Gausman, and several bullpen arms, most notably Jeff Hoffman. This series will be a tall task for Toronto, but they undoubtedly have what it takes to beat the Dodgers.
2025 World Series Picks
We’re looking at two teams who don’t know each other too well. I do expect this series to go six or seven games, and I truly believe the Blue Jays can come out on top. Their offense has been unstoppable, and although the Dodgers have top-notch arms, I’ll take Toronto.
