As you can see, Real Madrid and Manchester City are co-favorites at soccer betting sites. PSG, Bayern, Atletico, Inter Milan, and Chelsea are all clubs to watch as well. Paris and Inter, of course, will lock horns in the Champions League final on Saturday in Munich.
Each side will play three group matches before the knockout stages. The group winners and runner-up progress to the Round of 16. It’s the same format as any major European competition like the UCL.
Real Madrid (+450)
To Madrid’s standards, 2024-25 wasn’t the best season. Barcelona beat them out for the LaLiga title and also took them down in the Copa del Rey final. The 15-time Champions League winners exited in the quarterfinals of the competition they were so used to dominating as well, with Arsenal convincingly knocking Los Blancos out across two legs. The only trophy they won was the UEFA Super Cup. This is a chance to win hardware, and they should finish at the top of a group with Pachuca, RB Salzburg, and Al Hilal.
Manchester City (+450)
This season was a similar story for Man City. They didn’t live up to expectations, barely even securing a Champions League spot in the Premier League and losing in the playoff of the competition to Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t win a single trophy and will also be looking to turn around their fortunes in the Club World Cup. City’s group is quite straightforward with Wydad FC, Al Ain, and Juventus.
PSG (+600)
While PSG is consistently a force in Ligue 1, rarely are they considered a contender in the Champions League. But, they’ve looked brilliant and will have an opportunity at lifting the trophy for the first time on Saturday as they clash with Inter. Paris has an electrifying attack headlined by Ousmane Dembele, who bagged over 30 goals this term. A Club World Cup title would mean they complete the quadruple. That’s if Paris does, in fact, capture the UCL trophy.
Bayern Munich (+700)
Bayern crashed out of the Champions League in the quarterfinals against Inter in heartbreaking fashion, but they did manage to reclaim the Bundesliga title as Harry Kane finally won the first very trophy of his impressive career. The German giants have Auckland City, Boca Juniors, and Benfica in their group next month.
Chelsea (+1000)
The Blues just won the Conference League title this week, beating Real Betis 4-1. They will be riding a high into the Club World Cup, having also secured a Champions League berth in England after a brief spell away from the prestigious competition. Enzo Maresca’s men should finish top of their group, with Flamengo, Esperance de Tunis, and LAFC or America alongside them.
Inter Milan (+1000)
While Inter did narrowly lose the Scudetto to Napoli on the final matchday in Serie A, the club does have its chance at redemption in the Champions League showpiece after losing to Man City in the final a few years ago. The Nerazzurri are an extremely experienced side with an average age of 30. That will come in handy in the Club World Cup as well.
FIFA Club World Cup Picks
Despite FIFA making it their mission to expand the Club World Cup and make it more exciting, we have to understand that it’s coming at the end of a long, grueling campaign for most clubs, especially the top ones across Europe. I highly doubt they will be taking this very seriously because the risk of injury is high with minimal rest.
That being said, I still do believe a European giant will come out victorious. With an event like this, it’s best to put money down on a few different sides. I’ll take Man City, Inter, and Real Madrid.
