Ontario’s iGaming numbers improve from previous fiscal year
The latest market performance report from iGaming Ontario revealed that wagers and revenue in Ontario were higher in the 2024-2025 fiscal year than the previous fiscal year.
“These results show Ontario is home to a truly dynamic iGaming market with a strong roster of operators, and a world-class list of games available for players,” said Heidi Reinhart, chair of the iGaming Ontario board of directors.
“With 49 operators offering 84 gaming sites, Ontario’s regulated market continues to grow by offering a safer environment for Ontarians to play.” The latest numbers show how the Ontario market fared in its third full year.
The number of wagers and amount of revenue reported by iGaming Ontario for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is higher than the number of wagers and amount of revenue that was reported for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. In the latest market performance report, iGaming Ontario reported $82.7 billion in wagers. That number includes the casino, betting, and peer-to-peer poker.
Wagers and revenue
The most money was wagered on the casino. The casino had $69.6 billion worth of wagers. Betting was second in wagers with $11.4 billion wagered. The numbers for betting include sports, Esports, proposition bets, novelty bets, and exchange betting. Peer-to-peer poker had the least wagers. Ontario bettors wagered $1.6 billion on peer-to-peer poker. Last fiscal year, Ontario bettors wagered $51.7 billion on the casino, $9.7 billion on betting, and $1.7 billion on peer-to-peer poker.
For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, revenue numbers went up for the casino and betting. Revenue for the casino was $2.4 billion. Revenue for betting was $724 million. For the previous year, iGaming Ontario reported $1.8 billion in revenue for the casino and $588 million in revenue for betting.
Peer-to-peer poker was the only category with less revenue than the previous fiscal year. Revenue for peer-to-peer poker was $66 million in 2024-2025 and $67 million in 2023-2024. Gaming revenue was $3.2 billion for the entire Ontario market in 2024-2025. Gaming revenue the previous year was $2.4 billion.
Ontario players continue to use regulated betting sites
According to an IPSOS study that was commissioned by iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, 83.7 per cent of Ontario players in 2025 choose to play on betting sites that are regulated in Ontario.
The percentage of players who choose to play on regulated betting sites is lower this year than it was last year, 83.7 per cent compared to 86.4 per cent. The numbers in iGaming Ontario’s market performance report are rounded, unaudited, and subject to change.
