With tons of betting sites available in Canada, we understand how challenging it is to choose the perfect site that meets all standards. For this reason, we’ve decided to create comparison reviews between some of Canada’s top bookmakers. Unlike our previous reviews where we outline and explain the elements of each platform separately, these comparison reviews will help you to easily highlight all the features, welcome bonuses, payment methods, and user experience of two platforms at the same time. In this writeup, we’ll be comparing Bet365 and Betway head-to-head. As expected, each of these platforms has its strengths and weaknesses. Stick around as we unveil every aspect of their website.
Bet365 vs. Betway Summary
In general, Bet365 and Betway are both excellent betting platforms to use. I found both sites to be very professional with enticing services that should suit your betting needs. However, for comparison’s sake, Betway offers a bit more to players looking to gamble.
Here’s a summary of the faceoff:

1. Sign-Up Process
Ready to get things started? Here’s a breakdown of the sign-up process on both platforms. As a new player, creating an account on both websites is pretty straightforward. The best part is you don’t have to deal with numerous pages requiring your personal information.
Bet365: To create an account, there is only a one-page form to fill out. Simply, fill in your personal details like your name, date of birth, and address, create your login code and password, and you can go ahead to claim your welcome bonus.
Betway: Getting registered on Betway only takes a few minutes. The platform would request your name, email address and then ask you to create a username and a password. When you confirm your details, you can go ahead to deposit and place your bets. After signing up and confirming your account, you will get a welcome bonus.
Both platforms offer an easy signup process that is quite user-friendly, however, Betway does it a little better. You don’t have to type in all your personal details to get started and you can fill the rest later on in your profile settings.
2. Welcome Bonus
After creating an account, you’re entitled to a welcome bonus offer. Thankfully, both sites offer match welcome bonuses to new players. However, Bet365 offers a bit more.
Bet365: Bet365 has a unique welcome bonus that is designed to incentivize bettors to sign up and bet. The bonus is a Bet $1 and get $100 in Bet Credits offer. Bettors must sign up with Bet365, deposit a minimum of $10, and they will receive $100 in Bet Credits sent to their account. These Bet Credits are non-withdrawable, but any winnings from them can be withdrawn.
Betway: Betway’s Welcome Offer is also fun and unique, with plenty of exciting upside for bettors. How it works is that bettors can receive up to $200 refunded in the form of a bet token if their qualifying bet loses. The bet must be made within seven days of opening an account. The token is only granted if the bet loses.
While both of these offers are valuable, I would argue that the Betway one might be slightly better for users. The Betway one grants a larger payout for users, although it does require a more significant initial capital investment. I think it is better for more experienced bettors while the Bet365 offer is a quality offer for beginners.
If you’re a sports betting fan just like me, you’re in luck. Both Bet365 and Betway offer a couple of bonus packages on several sports and games. With these bonus offers, you can win lots of rewards without having to burn a hole in your pocket. Let’s compare some of the different offers you’ll find on these two established sportsbooks.
Bet365: Bet365 has a significant suite of different bonus offers available to users that should make it stand out for bonusbettors. Bet365 has a lot of bet boost offers, where bettors get enhanced prices for specific sports. They also have parlay boosts, where successful parlays receive enhanced payouts. Bet365 also offers early payout offers, where if teams are winning by a certain margin, the bet automatically cashes.
Betway: Betway’s bonuses are also substantial. Betway’s offers include a fascinating range of different things that should appeal to bettors of all experience levels. They have a Parlay Club, where bettors who wager on parlays a certain amount of times a week receive bet bonuses. They have a team special, where if the Blue Jays hit a certain amount of home runs and lose, bettors receive bet credits. And they offer Betway Boosts, where odds are enhanced for different daily outcomes.
While both sportsbooks have a substantial amount of offers for users, Bet365 has the edge here. The Bet365 sportsbooks provide users with plenty of upside, and I believe the enhanced benefits from them make them more likely to be consistently useful for the average sports bettor.
Round 3 Winner: Bet365
|When it comes to online sports betting, platforms with the best features are often prioritized by new and experienced players. In this section, we’ll take a look at all the unique features available on both platforms.
Bet365: I found the Bet365 bet builder to be quite helpful. With this feature, you can create multiple selections from your various betting markets and boost the odds on your bet. There are also tools to check the statistics of every game offered on the site. If you want to keep up with your favourite teams, you can check their last games and standings in their various leagues using the statistics tools. In addition to these are live streaming and live betting on various in-play betting markets. Bet365 also has an enhanced odds feature that provides boosted odds on different outcomes for users every day.
Betway: Like Bet365, there’s also a bet builder feature on the Betway website. Options like Live Betting and eSports betting are also available. However, the main feature that caught my eyes was the Betway Boosts feature. Betway provides players with enhanced odds that increase payouts on a range of betting options. Boosts are available for numerous sports and leagues including the NBA, NHL, and Football.
The distinction between both of these operators’ features is not too significant. They both have bet builders and bet boosts, live betting, and other similar features that you’d expect from a sportsbook of their calibers. Therefore, I don’t think it is fair to say that either one triumphs in this situation. We’ll call this round a Draw.
Round 4 Winner: Draw - Bet365 & Betway
5. Sports Coverage
One major deciding factor when comparing sports betting sites is the availability of sports betting options. Both operators do allow you to bet on many sporting events and popular leagues all over the world.
Bet365: The sportsbook gives you more than 30 sports with hundreds of betting markets to wager on. You will find popular sporting events like football, basketball, tennis, and many more. All popular sports leagues are also well represented on the platform. If you aren’t a fan of the primary popular sports, you’ll find niche markets on Bet365 like cricket, cycling, ski jumping, and more.
Betway: There are over 28 sports to choose from with Betway sports. Popular sports are present including options like UFC/Martial arts, Snooker, eSports, and boxing. While there are many sports covered, the niche sport options are slightly more limited. Betway primarily focuses on covering the most popular sports, although they do have options like Futsal and Gaelic Sports available.
At the end of the day, most Canadians will only want the primary sports options, like baseball, hockey, football, and soccer. But there are some who will want niche options, and Bet365 is stronger in this area. That gives them a slight edge in this round.
6. Live Betting
A lot of bettors require a live betting section from the sportsbooks they use. This is a live page dedicated to allowing bettors to wager on games that are currently being played. An algorithm updates odds according to results within each game. Let’s look at how Betway and Bet365 compare on the live betting front.
Bet365: On the platform, players are allowed to place in-play bets on a diverse range of sports, leagues, and markets. I checked a bunch of in-play matches and found a comprehensive menu of in-play betting markets.
Betway: Whether you’re a fan of football or you prefer to bet on hockey, you will be able to place live bets on all of your favourite sports on Betway. There is also a wide range of in-play betting markets available.
Both sportsbooks have excellent live betting options that make them perfect for bettors who enjoy wagering in real-time. There isn’t one operator who separated themselves as the better live betting website, so let’s call this round a square draw.
7. Live Streaming
Live streaming allows you to watch your favourite games right off your device as it happens. Bettors can gamble on the games they are watching on their favourite sportsbooks, so this feature goes a long way. Let’s investigate which of these operators stands out as a better live streaming service.
Bet365: Live streaming on Bet365 follows some strict rules. However, there is a wide array of sporting events to stream and access is available to players as long as their accounts are funded. Soccer, hockey, cricket, golf, and horse racing are some of the sports you can live stream with Bet365.
Betway; Live streaming is available to account holders but you won’t find it on every game. Most popular sports offer this feature, however, there are some restrictions based on the country you’re viewing from. For some games like racing, you will have to meet the minimum bet required to view live.
Bet365 is the obvious winner considering its live streaming service is more customer-friendly. It also offers more streaming options for you to watch your favourite games.
8. Mobile Compatibility
Due to our ever-busy schedules and the fixation the modern sports bettor has with their smartphone devices, users around the world are prioritizing mobile betting. Many sportsbooks have betting apps they’ve created for their users that allow them to wager on the go. Let’s look at how each betting site stacks up when it comes to smartphone betting.
Bet365: Being one of the leading betting platforms in Canada, Bet365 offers an intuitive mobile app for players on the go. The betting app is only for iOS users, so if you are an Android user, you might be disappointed. However, Apple users will love this high-quality mobile app, as its intuitive layout and excellent mobile features have led to it being considered one of the peak options for Canadian bettors.
Betway: Betway features an impressive mobile app with a user-friendly interface. You don’t have to worry about lagging or crashing during gameplay. The mobile app is also well-optimized to fit into any screen size both on smartphones and tablets. The Betway app is available to be downloaded from the Apple App Store, and for Android users, it can be downloaded as an APK from the Betway website. It is a high-quality smartphone option that looks and functions incredible well.
Both apps are great and offer a very similar user experience. If there is one key difference, it might be that the Betway app is available for Android users as an APK. Since that is the only key aspect setting these sportsbooks apart, Betway might have to receive the edge in this one.
Before making your choice on a bookmaker, it is important that you check the payment methods available on the site. You should ensure your preferred payment methods are supported and that there are options to carry out transactions in the event your first choice doesn’t pull through. Here are the available payment methods on each platform.
Bet365: There are many standard options that bettors can use to make deposits onto Bet365. The methods available include Interac, Visa, MasterCard, Instadebit, iDebit, ApplePay, paysafecard, and Click to pay. These should meet the needs of the standard Canadian sports bettor.
Betway: The Betway transaction methods have been reduced significantly as they have had to align with Ontario regulators. Still, there is an abundance of choice for bettors still available. You can make use of Mastercard, VISA, Paysafecard, MuchBetter, ecoPayz, flexepin, iDebit, and InstaDebit.
Both sportsbooks have a very similar slate of payment options. This is the case with most iGaming Ontario regulated websites, who want to follow the rules the government has laid out. Either way, the options are incredibly similar, so this result is a Draw.
Round 6 Winner: Draw - Bet365 & Betway
10. Customer Support
Customer support is not usually a big deal for most punters until something goes wrong. If you ever find yourself in a sticky situation, the customer support team on both platforms are always available to help.
Here’s a look at what these two sites offer in terms of customer support:
Bet365: You can contact the operator via Live Chat, e-mail, and Post. There is also a FAQ section providing more details on how the platform works. The FAQ page is solid and expansive, with a easy-to-understand interface and plenty of answers to important questions.
Betway: Live Chat, e-mail, and FAQ are available 24/7 on the Betway platform. The FAQ page is easy to use and has plenty of information. My lone complaint with Betway’s support is that finding the information for their help center actually takes a significant amount of digging around, which might provide annoyance for users.
Both sportsbooks have pretty much the same help features. They are both lacking a clear phone line, which is inconvenient. The only major difference is that Betway’s help information is harder to find, so we’ll give the edge to Bet365.
Round 10 Winner: Bet365
11. User Experience
A lot of betting sites tend to focus more on the features they offer and pack their sites full of lots of sports events and numerous betting markets that make it pretty hard for users to navigate the platform. I’ve seen this a couple of times with leading bookmakers and it doesn’t make for a good sight or help the user experience. Betway and Bet365 seem to do things differently.
Bet365: I personally find the bet365 platform to be more user-friendly. You will find the same to be true whether you’re placing bets via mobile or desktop device.
Betway: This platform does put users first and while you will find all the sports events and betting markets you would like to bet on, you will also find it easy to navigate through the site when placing bets.
The navigation is ultra-smooth on the Bet365 platform and the design does make it look more appealing which is why it is the best overall choice.
- Easy to deposit
- User-friendly and well-optimized platform
- Numerous betting options and markets
- Few promotions for existing customers
- No telephone chat customer support
- Multiple customer support options
- Generous promotions for existing customers
- Numerous payment methods to choose from
- Live streaming is limited
- Sports coverage is not as many as other operators
The Final Verdict
Based on the criteria we used, Bet365 had the slight edge and went home the winner. Both sportsbooks are some of the top options for Canadian bettors, but under our system, Bet365 squeaked out a victory.
Bet365 is a sportsbook with the user experience, promotional offerings, and sports coverage most bettors seek out. It has world-class features and a website design that immediately makes it a top option. It isn’t perfect, though. The welcome offer could be expanded upon to really entice bettors, a phone line in the help center would be helpful, and they should add an app for Android users.
On the other side of things, Betway is still an amazing betting site. They have an excellent sports betting app that is beloved by Canadians. They have great features and a solid welcome bonus offer. They could make their help center more accessible and add a few more niche sports to their coverage.
While it was a close outcome, ultimately, only one can win. Today, that is Bet365. But Betway is always improving, so who knows who it will be tomorrow.
So which is your preferred choice? If you’re still undecided, maybe you should check out our other reviews on Bet99 and Fezbet, two popular new betting sites in Canada.
