The New York Knicks went into San Antonio and wrestled Game 1 away from the Spurs in their home gym on Wednesday night. We have a feeling that means Game 2 is going to be very different. San Antonio will be in full desperation mode, and their superstar big man seems destined for a bounce back performance.

With Game 2 coming up on Friday night, we’re taking a look at the wide range of player prop betting markets available. We’ve come up with our top three best bets for the contest so read on for our analysis as well as the top NBA betting odds in the Great White North!

Highlights

  • Victor Wembanyama went 6-for-21 from the field in Game 1
  • Wemby has had 5 stocks in three of his last five games
  • Karl-Anthony Towns has scored 15+ points in 21 of his last 23 games with 30+ minutes

Knicks vs. Spurs Game 2 - Player Prop Best Bets

Victor Wembanyama finished Game 1 with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Not a bad performance on the face of it. But remember that saying about books and their covers? Wemby had a playoff high six turnovers (he hadn’t had more than four in any postseason game this year previously) and he also shot 6-for-21 from the field for a shocking 29 percent shooting night from the field.

He’s only shot that poorly three other times the entire season, and never twice in a row. He’s going to bounce back from the field. But even without that trend working in our favour, we think he would have a big game here on Friday night.

Because there’s quite simply no other option for him. The Spurs won’t win without a dominant Wemby, and if they lose, they go to New York down 2-0. That’s a sweep waiting to happen. We think Wemby to score 25+ points is more than reasonable, and with the odds under -200, it’s good enough for us. He has hit 25+ in five of the last eight games.

The big Frenchman will have to do it on the defensive end too. He’s going to have those go-go-gadget arms all up in those passing and shooting lanes, and he’s going to get his numbers there too. He’s had five stocks (steals and blocks) in three of his last five games (he had four in Game 1) and we think he’ll blow by that number in Game 2.

On the New York side, we’re going with Karl-Anthony Towns to have another solid game offensively. He’s going to have to play big minutes again with Wemby on the other side, and when he plays big minutes, he always gets his numbers on the offensive end. He has scored 15+ in 21 of his last 23 games when playing 30+ minutes. And he should play a lot more than 30 on Friday night. It is -200 odds, but it’s worth the scratch.

Best Bets

  • Victor Wembanyama Over 4.5 Steals + Blocks (-120)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns To Score 15+ Points (-200)
