The San Antonio Spurs got punched in the mouth in their house in Game 1 with their fans all coordinating their clothing and everything. They put a 9-0 run on the New York Knicks late to retake the lead, but Jalen Brunson and company responded with a 12-0 run of their own to seal the deal.

It will be on the Spurs to gather themselves after that rough finish to Game 1 and tie the series up at one game apiece when these teams meet again on Friday night for Game 2 of these 2026 NBA Finals. We’ve got you covered with the top NBA betting odds for the matchup as well as game analysis, predictions, and picks!

Knicks vs. Spurs Game 2 - Point Spread/Moneyline Prediction

The Spurs are in one of the clearest win-now situations you’ll ever see in sports. A favourite that just lost Game 1 at home in a seven-game series. And in the Finals no less. That just does not happen very often. Since 2001, it’s only occurred five times.

And every single time, the home team that was upset in Game 1 came back and beat the snot out of their opponent in Game 2 to even up the series before hitting the road. Those teams went 5-0 in those games and all covered the spread, winning by scores of 19, 19, 16, 9, and 8, an average winning margi of 14.2.

The New York Knicks are also on a historic run, however. They’ve won 12 straight playoff games, tied for the second-most in NBA history. But those streaks all end. The Warriors have the longest one at 15 games, but even they lost before the end of the postseason. So did the 1999 Spurs that also won 12 straight. They lost to the Knicks in Game 3 before going on to win those NBA Finals.

Another caveat here is that Victor Wembanyama went 6-for-21 from the field in Game 1. That’s 29 percent from the field. For a guy that’s 7’5”. That’s not going to happen again. Karl-Anthony Towns defended him well in Game 1, but guys as good as Wemby can turn it on at will. The big Frenchman will do just that in Game 2, leading the Spurs to a big win and ending New York’s streak at a dozen.

Best Bet: San Antonio Spurs -5.5 Point Spread (-110)

Knicks vs. Spurs Game 1 - Over/Under Total Prediction

Game 1 was a tightly contested affair with a ton of lead changes and several late ties. It ended with just 200 points. But much of that game was played at the pace the Knicks wanted. That won’t be the case if Game 2 goes the way we think it will.

And even the Knicks have had way more output in these playoffs recently. Seven of their last 10 games before Game 1 of the Finals hit 219+ points. The same goes for 10 of the last 12 for the Spurs. We think this will be a much higher-scoring and higher-paced affair than we saw on Wednesday.
